Who said that the "republic" (Region) of Somaliland wanted to intervene in Somalia? They come to somaliland as refugees escaping war. Not to mention that there were old and young women as well as children inside that boat. If we go back 40 years, Hargeisa was the shithole. I think you forgot before all somalis were a colonial project split by two powers italy and britain, we never invented such thing as government, rule of law (maybe xeer but its different) i.e a functioning country. We were nomads wondering the land fighting over resource or living peacefully in small villages. Forming a country was simply not in our nature.
Let me tell you something thought, politically bixii is a dead man walking. He is just using the colonial past, tribalism and civil war to stay in power with his fake government. Reminds me a bit of siad barre. The only people I feel sorry for are the decent citizens.
Somalia was a colony Somaliland was a protectorate. Big difference, we had more control of things than colonial Somalia was allowed

lol there are. I've met people from awdal , isaaqs who don't want to join somaliland. Not only that they are also on youtube on some somaliland propaganda videos that promotes visitors to come to somaliland so that they can have a good opinion about it.

Protectorate or not there was no control by the indigenous people, even thought it may seem like it. The evidence is clear because when the cadaans left somalis went back to their natural state and the country broke down into tribalism dictatorship civil war wahhabism ect. Even today somalis by large (incl SL) need constant help of the UN. Like i said managing and forming a country is simply not somali nature because its a foreign concept. But we will learn slowly, by ourselves this time.

I would like to add to the debate that self declaration is illegal and not recognized by the international community. Why? imagine if i declared london as my country, even if everyone agreed, who is stopping another citizen from doing the same? there is a reason that law is there. a clan based self declared government is simply not right, a real government is one elected by all ethnic somalis from all clans.
