I had a very unconventional training. I learned everything in the netherland, I couldnt read nor write arabic until I was 15, I never learned past alamtara kayf until hooyo had it enough lool. I was a proper neef. I learned reading and writing in a summer break. The longest was probably one hizb. I always had half page of new materials, half page of repeating the previous surah. Daily in combination with school
