By borders I meant the modern definition.
I never minimised Somalis of the past. My point was that I highly doubt they were worried about a bunch of immigrants and traders who only lived in big cities.

Every group has a particular group, Somali even more so as we have a distinct look. You can tell when someone is Somali from a mile away. A half-Russian Somali or Greek will never be seen as full ethnic Somalis. Even the ones that say that you are full ethnic Somali if your dad is know this.

Only as far as lineage is concerned, yes if you father is Somali clan X, and your mother is Turk, then you would be clan X and lose your Somaliness by 50% and be classified Half-caste, it would take many generation of mixing with pure Somalis to get a DNA make up of 90% Somali, even then we would know you're a Kebab as Somalis know each other well, unless you managed to hide it well, but that is unlikely.
