This is what it looks like when a major economic partner invests in your port. Not the shitty chump-change thrown our way by dhegcas.

Gwadar port and Pakistan-China Economic Corridor is very important in Pakistan. Basically, the Gwadar port will be the route Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Afganistan and Russia will reach hot water sea. Gwadar economic corridor between Pakistan and China are rapidly model agreements and now China moving towards practical measurement. For this purpose, They have recently organized an event at Gwadar, Pakistan and China have been signed between the very important memory. In this agreement, the Pakistan has formally handed over 2,300 acres to china. This agreement will be in the next three years, due to this agreement a smart port city of Gwadar will become an industrial estate. This will be establishing the Gwadar. Pakistan has provided 2300 acres on lease to the china for 43 years.

Gwadar was the permanent international city in the past, it was used as a tax-free port. That’s why a large number of investors were attracted. These investors started to buy land in Gwadar on heavy charges. The situation reached the point that which has only thirty thousand rupees per acre and the cost of land has gone up to two to three million after that. In this case, Now the Land rates in Gwadar are in millions. The unemployed people are opening property offices and they become succeed property dealer in days. In 2003, the Balochistan provincial assembly passed a law in this regard and to improving city from the Gwadar Development Authority made an institution. This is another thing that the company still managed to improve the situation in the city, but it did not stay permanent encouraged to invest in Gwadar.

Chinese President’s visit Pakistan and meet with the government of Pakistan and Pakistan describe it on global levels. Gwadar economic corridor projects gave prominence again. India’s opposition to the route along the alternative route offered in the region has made clear Rejected. Indian governments scale used to teach in the United States, Pakistan and Russia are getting closer together, and the two countries have now a new journey begins. In all about the importance of Gwadar economic corridor in this Region.
Similarly, in China, Gwadar, Pakistan being the biggest airport building which will be over four thousand acres and this will be built in 30 months.

Pakistan has nukes and is an enemy of India which China is competing against in the region. Come back when you're at least 1% as relevant to China as Pakistan.

Neither Pakistan's nuclear capabilities nor it's relationship with India have anything to do with China's ambition to develop Gwadar Port. It is China's way of access to the lucrative Indian Ocean, Persian Gulf trade routes.

Did you even bother to read the article?

The economic corridor is a tool to get around India but even without India it's still useful. It's still a big investment and I doubt that China would just do it to get a better route to the Indian ocean.

Ocean travel is a lot more economical than trucking through the Himalayas. It probably has a more important geopolitical value that will allow the Chinese Army to flank India if it ever needs to.

So for what reason would China or anyone else built something as monstrous as that in Somalia? If you want to develop something then build it yourself instead of asking for handouts. The whole world had been building ports for the past few thousand years before FDI or IMF loans existed.

I agree with development that is homegrown and grassroots, but Somalis don't have the ambition, funds or work-ethic to build their own port.

Also, Somalia is more strategic than Pakistan as it essentially overlooks the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. If you control Somalia, you control the Red Sea, arguably the most important shipping route on earth.

3rdly, Somalia has more natural resources than Pakistan, at least it's rumoured to anyway. It has the potential to be a major Oil/gas and Uranium producer. These are all materials vital for China's energy needs.

4rthly, Somalia is facing the Indian ocean and has a good vantage point for cutting India off from the Red sea, Persian Gulf and the western half of the Indian ocean.

To argue that Pakistan is more strategically important than Somalia is an absurd proposition.

Lastly, I don't think you've understood my original point. My point is if your gonna beg for someone to build your port, at least get a giant superpower nation to do it. Why beg Arabs?
