It has many names. “Arbitrage” “Middleman” you can even call it Import/export when it gets to a certain size and logistics network involved.

But dropshipping sucks as people would like shipping <2 weeks even with Amazon around some might want it even quicker. When your drop shipping from china it’ll take forever. If you take it seriously and spend money buying things in bulk, storing it, buying shipping equipment/material/ printer label, create a website, shopify, etsy, amazon reseller, and you start providing customer service then your running a trade business and only making small fees reselling to stay afloat as anyone can buy direct, your competing with those sellers themselves.

The real business angle is value add. Can you buy bulk/raw goods and process/upsell them? Think buying flour and making sliced bread or buying fabric and making shirts(not graphic tees lol).

The MLM scams however are simply packaged as “working” for your own business or “investing” in yourself. If you buy this product and resell it out of your trunk, or this $99 class on how to trade ForEx you’ll be rich! If I ever found a fool proof way of making money I’d incorporate a LLC for $300, get an EIN from the irs, open a bank account, actually do the fool proof method myself, take some excel spreadsheets, a business plan, and bank statements showing the fool proof method and I’d raise money from banks/investors. Why would I start selling classes on it? Or selling to you at a discount?

TLDR; Buy a $99 Shopify package and resell graphic tees OR buy machines from china, raw goods from the local/regional markets, put raw goods into machines and sell processed goods for more money/more volume.
