I don’t understand the rationale behind a lenient justice system. The US justice system works just fine as long as the right people are punished and the right things are criminalized. So long as you don’t fill prisons with people for smoking weed and throw the book at convicted criminals it works just fine.

The OP is exonerating a killer of a tragic domestic violence and blaming the victim, a powerless female who is not with us and can’t defend herself because he spent time in a prison cell with the murderer who lied to him. There are others who wish the murderer should’ve been sentenced to death because they believe an eye for an eye. I think both are extreme cases and the sentence is justified for the murderer to suffer and think about his actions. Furthermore, once other prisoners become aware that he is a woman killer, he will need to be isolated and would be looking his back for the duration of incarceration. Besides the deceased, the victims are both boys who lost their parents. Hope they will be raised well and become strong enough to fight domestic violence.

I belived him but im shocked now to find out dahir is locked for 16 years for murdering his own wife.
