also im baffled alot of southern people think waqooyi is exclusively somaliland or british somaliland territory alone. not knowing northern somalia or somalis means all the inhabitants in somaliland and all daaroods in sland and plan and northeastern somalis in ethiopia and as jubbaland northern somalis who make up the 60% of somali population who speak the northern somali dialect that forms the basis of STANDARD SOMALI language.

basically someone from borama/hargeysa wud understand more easier someone in garowe/boosaaso/kismaayo etc than someone from muqdisho/central somalia.

dont make me habaar you. ppl like u infuriate me with their ignorance. gaari means completely different word, gaari means a woman who is devote to her man. baabuur is standard word for car.

take note yarey

It's a homonym! You know those words that are spelled the same but mean different things :icon rolleyes:

Just because your people substitute every r for a dh does not make yours the standard.:axvmm9o:

Adiga what's with your hate against the South? You don't even know the difference between southern accents, as a matter of fact you don't know anything outside of the samosa triangle.

People in the Northeast don't say xidhay but ironically they say "ma jidho" :icon lol:
thats ghetto phrase or whatever. officially theres no northeast version whatsoever, the somali dialect you should speak is northeastern aka darood dialect which comes under the northern somali which makes the basis of standard somali laguage. khalaas.

That is how @Abdalla and @Thegoodshepherd speak mashallah inaadeerayaal.

Reer waqooyi acting like they speak standard somali annoys me. They say soo dhaadhac instead of soo deg, waan yaqaanaa instead of waan aqaana, waan jecelyahay instead of waan jeclahay they say walahida instead of walahi :faysalwtf:

The only way to use DH is when when R is followed by T. Gabarta becomes Gabadha, Majirto becomes majidho. Free lessons for the day :yacadiim:

use r and it will show your inferiority. are you retarded or just want to go against the linguist who researched and set the guidelines of the somali language?

northern somali aka proper somali is the basis of the official standard somali spoken by 60% somali population, the rest speaks banaadiri and maay maay. good luck understanding the latter dialects but dont create confusion.

thats all in different context and bit slang not proper af waqooyi. walaahida is slang, waan jecelyahay is totaly wrong only a retard wud say that. you gonna say waan jecelyahay to your xaliimo? no way! soo dhaadhac is alright, we use it as when someone is living far from downtown or in hilly area like "ma soo dhaadhacaysa maanta?“ its very close to the english version of " are you coming down today".

are you gonna use soo deg instead of soo dhaadhac? kkkkk come on!
waan yaqaana is wrong again, we say waan garanaya/gartey or waan aqaana or waan fahmaya/fahmay.

see its very easier and formal sounding that the versions you wrote which sounds like a 5 year old speaking.

again you are sort of correct T should be replaced with DH but i dont know if its a formula or just coincidence. we never use gabarta in standard somali aka northern version. but ma jidho is regional variety and not standard so ma jirto is used instead.

I've seen grown men say walahida :urgh:

Soo dhaadhac was used in the context to tell someone to come downstairs. The waan yaqaanaa stuff is a grammar error which is commonly used in waqqoyi, it's the somali version of you is or we wuz. Someone once said reer waqooyi speak the best somali because they produce the best singers. I told him young thug is a great artist, does he speak good english? kkkkkk

the R and T is a rule. Ma gaartay (did you reach) becomes ma gaadhay. I've even heard sheikh umal say majidho and he's not reer mudug. I come from a family of intellectuals among the most elitarian somali clan, trust me on this formula.

soo dhaadhac is the same as soo dag.
glad someone backed up or else no one could have believed a malab connoisseur as linguistic expert. :snoop:

northern somali doesnt just make up two third of standard somali without a reason. its rich and simplified

you lost me at young thug. logical fallacy sxb.

theres no argument most somalis you meet in abroad have no good grip in their language. ma jidho is even used in ceerigaabo by isaaqs even, thats not a prob.

the point was that northern somali (north western, northeastern and northern who migrated to jubbaland) those three versions combined are officially grouped as northern somali language and make 60 pct of the standard somali language.

whats the fuss?
