It differs from person to person but i really wanna know if you guys think it's better to move out or stay with your parents. If you think moving out is the best option feel free to tell me at what age and pros/cons.

Move out sxb. Become independent. I moved out at the age of 19. But stay in touch with your parents daily.

Depends on your age, reason why you are moving out etc (university? job?). Many different variables.

If you live in a big city, go to a university in the same city your parents live and you can save a lot of money.

Yeah, i might do that but i need to know what's ahead of me right now to get ready.

I think it depends what you wanna do with your life, nothing wrong staying with your parents if you have it good there. It can also save you a lot of money instead of being the typical broke student etc.

You are right, but it would be a good experience to be independent for a while and experience what you haven't experienced before.

Stay at home and build a foundation - stable job and save atleast 6 months of salary and have long term invesments in place before moving out.

Generally most somali marriages last 18months because of people that move from home straight into their marriage home and spend all their savings on a wedding costs then expect to go 50/50 with their wife. Wether u get the bac madow or not youve still got investments that she will never know about because you will never tell her about them.

It really depends tbh, If you’re able to then yea definitely go for it but don’t feel like you need to rush into getting your own place, nothing wrong with staying with your parents until you’re financially secure

Saving money while living with your parents is bogus and artificial. You need to learn how to save money while having real life expenses. Living with your parents until ur mid late twenties will make you miss out an essential part of being a grown up. Handling scarce income while having monthly expenses if not something you should be doing for the first time as a 25 year old. When I first moved out the biggest issue I had was eating healthy and clean and dealing with money. I use to spend more than 500 euros on eating out, it took me a while to control that aspect. I cut so much unnecessary expenses and forced myself to live on 30-50 euro's budget per week on food.

Overrated.

You can learn to cook and manage your groceries etc while still living at home.

Budgetting can only be learned if you have actual expenses and income. Saving money while staying at home is artificial and 9/10 doesn't work. I know guys that have fulltime jobs and live with their parents. Their income goes to buying cars and living lavish.

Many young people who ''live on their own'' end up in flatshares with strangers.... which is very similar to living with your parents, but instead a bunch of cadaan and other ajnabis around.

It's better to invest the money in something instead of living lavish.

Not the same at all. Sharing a flat means you have to pay rent and utilities which requires advanced form of budgetting. Living at home is usually for free, people living with their parents don't pay rent.

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

I haven't been living with my parents over the past 6 years except the usual visits. I was forced to move out since I was pursuing my studies relentlessly.
But I'll definitely stay with them or reside close to them when I get married inshallah.

Many Somali parents ask for money when the kids become adults. So it's not totally free.

It's best to move out or it'll take you a long time to become a grown ass man. I'm 26. my hooyo still cleans my room and does my laundry.

It depends what’s your goal in life is, if you want to finishing your schooling and can’t afford the rent just stay with your parents until then. I’m close to finishing college even if I start my career I would only move out when I’m marrying. My plan is to work in my chosen field for about two years and use the money I saved in that time frame to sort out my family affairs and get married with it inshallah.
