It differs from person to person but i really wanna know if you guys think it's better to move out or stay with your parents. If you think moving out is the best option feel free to tell me at what age and pros/cons.

as soon as you finish your studies + a year to look for a stable job..... after that your ass don't belong in that house.

Yeah... I ain't moving with someone. I'm definitely moving alone lol.

If that’s the case and you got a good paying permanent employment, why pay the mortgage of someone else and not buy your own place? You said that you saved thousands and why don’t you consider buying something like a condominium?

Sax because of work in a different city

I work in the same city but it might as well be in a different one due to the distance, I've tried to bring up moving somewhere closer but my dad said as long as your working in toronto you'll be living with your family hop on the highway and stop with the kibir :meleshame:

Mobility. Amazon is a multinational corporation. Renting saves me headaches of dealing with finding another buyer. If I allow the space to be used for rent, then maintaining that while I'm in another city would also be a drag.

Renting gives me freedom. I'm not loyal to my city. My goal for moving up the latter is fearlessly getting higher positions regardless of the location. Hell I applied for Japan once. I honestly don't give a fk where I go as long as it's up.

I don’t blame him wallaahi. My parents would say the same tbh lol. Is Toronto that big? How long does it take for you to go to work?

I bought 2 flats in a place called Perth in West Australia during the resources boom, I no longer live there, but the rent and maintenance are managed by a real estate agency that charges me 7% of the monthly rent for managing both properties. Few months ago, prices of apartments dropped suddenly and I was starring at a loss of tens of thousands, but now they bounced back and decided to hang in there for the longer term. Properties in Sydney and Melbourne are very expensive unless one is willing to buy one in the sticks. My future plan includes moving to Perth permanently and enjoying the warmer weather of living next to the Indian Ocean.

Amazon opened their Australian operations early this year in Melbourne. What experiences or skills do you need for a transfer here?

If it's the logistics industry and I have a work permit, I can work there tomorrow tbh. Though my goal is to get a manager position in Canada, and work there for 2 years. Then, I can move anywhere I want. The reason for why I wanna stay in Canada for now, is because my networks involve my managers, and their networks are in Canada. So getting them to use them to help me makes more sense.

Yes it's a big city, but everywhere is connected through public transportation or highways. But big cities come with bad rush hour traffic that makes commute longer I work about 50-60 min away so not too too bad.

I'm moving out when I am ready to marry. Until then I see no point.

My dad moved out when he was 15. No wonder you're such an oday.
:mjlol:

The earlier you move out, the harder your heart will become. I bet your dad is a savage :mjlaugh:

Move only when you saved a bit and can support yourself and be smart with your money. There’s nothing more annoying than idiots who move out, but then need constant bailouts from their family, and no I’m not describing a certain family member. But I do recommend the experience.

Have you had good experiences with your HOAs, do you find that it’s worth it? I think that’s the benefit of buying apts/townhomes/condos even though some balk at the management fees.

f*ck you im from Mudug
Moving out isn’t for everyone and if you think you’ve the funds (job) to pay all your expenses, can share a place with strangers of many different characters, cook and clean, then it will prepare you well for life outside your family home. There will be days, you’ve to live on noodles or cereals and other days, you’ve to cook chicken teriyaki to impress your new date. I’ve developed many great friendships while sharing homes with others and some were people I would never like to meet them again. In general, it has been a great experience for me.

I had a roommate who worshiped satan, the woman was creepy as hell. Scariest shit ever

They are old flats built in the 1970's and there are only 8 apartments in the building. The Body Corporate (HOA) is the real estate and their primary job is providing maintenance and collecting the rent. They also do inspections on the properties once every 6 months. But you are right about the flashy mega apartments buildings and the astronomical management fees involved. A friend bought off the plan (before being built because they are cheaper) a tiny one bedroom in Melbourne's Central Business District 3 years ago for $405,000. Each year, he has to fork out $7000 for management fees. They have a swimming pool, gym and a a massive LCD TV, barbeque and dinning area at the roof of the building. No such amenities in my places.

:)

The characters you meet in sharing houses are unbelievable. I shared a house with a girl who treated her cat like a dog and took her for walks with a fishing line as leads. There is a funny Australian book written about sharing houses called, He. Died with a falafel in his hand.' There is a movie by the same title, but I haven't seen it.

I lived out on campus but my hood niggas came over all the time, had the best time of my life. I use to come back to leftover Nandos and bottles :drakelaugh:

The girls in my dorms waa ka nasan waayeen though, so many complaints had me on my final notice :mjlol:

Move out when you can but don't get carried away with a bachelor life. A lot of habaryars complain to me about their sons at home always coming home late at night and treating the house like a hotel. I tell them the same thing, let him move out and he'll stop being an ciyaal suuq. Shit gets too real when you're alone.
