I have not even used the word rape in this thread, calm down.
As for Somali, I went to school in Somalia and travelled there a lot in my childhood. I am very confident in my Somali language skills.
Good for you Abti. Practice makes perfect. Keep it up.
PS: Others have used the word in objection to the refrain from mingling freely with the opposite sex. This is an Islamic etiquette that forestalls any sexual desires being pursued by individuals because of an exposure to opportunities to engage in forbidden intimacy. The challenge is to pursue those desires safely and with conscience. The idea behind restraint.
As far as the guy who slept with the 15 year old is concerned, it wouldn't matter if she wanted or not because by law, underage girls or boys can not consent. In America, if there is no rape in minor and adult sex, it is called Statutory rape. If violence or coercion is involved, it is charged as an aggravated rape etc.
Regardless, the assumption here on the forum is that we are Muslims as Somalis, therefore, those who are criticizing not intermingling with the opposite as rapist trait need to understand they are speaking as people who are not Islamic by culture. If they are doing it by mistake, they need to self-correct themselves.
