Their economy can't afford the hit. With the affects of Brexit and the uncertainty a post Brexit Britain they can't afford it. They can't close everything down, with a massive hit to their economy.

America and china can weather the storm. They literally just invested 1.5 trillion into their stock exchange which is half our annual GDP because of it struggling.

They'll have to shut down everything soon. Even if they don't nobody will be leaving their homes when the number of cases peak.

government insists schools should remain open

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has said keeping schools open in England is the "best course of action", despite fears about the coronavirus.

It comes as blanket school closures are being announced in European nations such as Spain, France and Ireland.

He told a head teachers' conference in Birmingham that sending all pupils home would put a big strain on key workers who would also have to stay at home.

School leaders agreed keeping schools open was the right decision.

Geoff Barton, head of the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), which is meeting for its annual conference, said head teachers would authorise absence if parents took the decision to keep their children off lessons.

'Exams worry'
He anticipated absences would be small in scale and similar to "snow days".

The government has said individual schools may be advised to shut by Public Health England if necessary.

Mr Barton said there was pressure from parents for more information and guidance about what might happen to national exams.

The exam season starts in early May, when the virus outbreak is expected to reach its peak, but exam regulators are urging schools to prepare for public exams as normal.

GCSE exams start in the second week of May and run until mid-June.

Mr Barton said many head teachers were facing questions about the exam season, and there was an urgent need for reassurance.

"Parents and pupils are worried about being the victim of something out of their control and are asking, 'Will I get into college or university?'"

Mr Williamson said: "We're doing everything we can to make sure it's fair for students, we're having regular discussions with Ofqual."

The government warned on Thursday that within weeks, whole households would be asked to self-isolate if one person showed symptoms consistent with coronavirus.

It is not clear exactly what this would mean for a teenager unable to sit their exams, but there are mechanisms for allocating marks in exceptional circumstances, which have been used before.

The Welsh government has been advised that school closures are not an appropriate move at the moment, though the situation remains under review.

The Scottish government has also said school closures would not be an effective measure at this stage.
The Republic of Ireland's decision to close schools, colleges and public childcare facilities until 29 March is likely to affect businesses in Northern Ireland's border region that employ staff from the Irish Republic.

This virus was told in a book in 1980s by a "psychic" who literally wrote everything thats happening now. It was clearly a planned attack on innocent civilians.

Ethiopia too now..

Unfortunately that is true. A Japanese guy became ill and got tested positive. The ministry of health just confirmed on national TV. He is now in quarantine and the health officials are now chasing all his contacts to get them into quarantine asap. That is fcked up!

Payback for the uygur muslims?

I came close contact with European tourists strolling in Bokaap they were close proximity to where I was working , very close to my vending shop which was worrying.
A local vendor nextdoor warned me about the consequences of interacting with these tourists , but as a businessman I didn't payed attention and continued vending thus Fridays is always booming with vendors hustling extra money an opportunity I can't miss!

at first I wasn't disturbed by their presence despite the media panicking constantly and politicians on the verges of insanity , until these Italians passerby's were coughing contagiously , the disgusting creatures continued spitting phlegms on the pavements ,
then there were these hordes of loud high on shit Dutch tourists wandering around I could tell from a distance they weren't Afrikaners because of their thick XAAQO accents

I was panicking at this point wlahi I was mortified and unbelievably my atheist self began to read ayatul kursi
I closed the shop rode my motorcycle and head back to the townships where I live

First thing I done I cleansed myself took abolution (weyso) ,read Shahadah and prayed my first Salah since 5 years , repenting .

I'm worried sxb

There's few cases that sprung up in Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg and Soweto but I think it's also here .

thats great but they're not doing enough compared to other european countries.

I know the uk doesn't want to close schools or even put the nation on lockdown cause of how damaged the economy is/will be cause of brexit/post brexit

but the government is gonna have to do something drastic to curb this disease sooner or later . washing hands wont solve the problem
