Well then let people chose. Just like in your country. If you wanna do weed or be a prostitute or live a religious life, you can do all that. If 70% of Somali women wanna wear jilbab and 30% wanna be hijabless then so be it. But we got people who are proud to say they judge and slander those type of girls. Sad.

I agree with you. Somalis are way too judgemental. I once went to a Turkish mosque with a Turkish friend to watch Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce. Their mosques serve as a meeting point and cultural center. Anyways when the adhan started I went upstairs to the prayer room and almost 80% stayed behind and continued to watch the game. Nobody interfered with the other and asked why dont you pray. Now imagine if it were Somalis
Why would I do that? That's considered backbiting and it's totally forbidden in Islam. I'm not their mahram, it's not my place to judge anyone. And I don't believe that a man and woman can 'only' be friends but that's a totally different discussion.

If you mean back chatting about the person, then this is haraam. Unless the person's actions is causing harm to the community as a whole, then this would go under the heading of 'Jarh wa ta'dil).
By 'judging', if you mean recognising the persons wrongdoings (without slandering them), then this is a must. It is incumbent to believe in the wrongdoing of the one who openly contradicts the beliefs and values of Islam.

why should we adopt the Jilbab and force it on women? Not every somali woman wants to wear the jilbab. Some wanna wear their traditional clothing likes the quntino, others wanna cover up because of religious reason while others wanna dress in jeans and t-shirts. Don't force your beliefs on others. Let people be free and make their own decisions. And I don't see anything that indicates the dirac is from Yemen. But considering our close boarders we more than likely share a lot of traditions with them.
