It comes from Hebrew culture, let's not be culture vultures and respect where things come from. You don't want to be like those Somalis who deny that the macawiis came from Southeast Asia.
sxb don’t change the subject to macawiis.
Hebrew/yahuud started with Isaac.
His father was not a Jew so how can u say a name that existed before him was Hebrew

Now the poll results are starting to look more realistic. Lol, early on everybody was voting Somali. Thanks for being honest now.

Hebrew is an ethnicity, culture, and most of all a language not a religion.

Judaism or Israelites is used when referring to the religion.
I see
The question is was the Hebrew ethnicity a thing during prophet Zakariye time?
What about the female name of Hawa.
Is that linked to Hebrew or Arab lineage?
What I am trying to say is both names predate afore mentioned ethnicities.
In your poll options maybe add an additional one for names prior

It has etymological roots in the Hebrew language.

Zakhar means to remember in Hebrew. In Arabic there is tadhakar for to remember. There is no way this is a proto-human word, it derives from proto-Semitic.
Yah is from Yahweh.

The option for you is Arabized Hebrew, don't be antisemitic.

Bro , prophet Zakariya was from Beni Israel , he was a descendant of Haruun , The brother of Nabi Musa .

Muslim theology maintains that Zakariya, along with John the Baptist (yaxye) and Jesus ( ciise) , ushered in a new era of prophets – all of whom came from the priestly descent of Amram(Imran), the father of the prophet Aaron. The fact that, of all the priests, it was Zakariya who was given the duty of keeping care of Mary(Maryam)

I strongly disagree
My name predates Hebrew ethnicity.
Fadlan I demand u create an option for names that Hebrew/Arab plagiarised

p.s
What option would someone named Hawa or Jibril be categorised?

is u sure?
I though Bani Israel and Bani Arab started with Isaac and Ishmael

For simplicity's sake:

Any name from the old or new testament = Arabized Hebrew

Any name from the early Muslims or the early period of Islam (excluding biblical) = Arabic & Islamic
