Tariq nasheed vs twitter xalimos

Not really. Most users on this site seem to have a dislike for Millennial females who try to claim a heritage that is not theirs. A lot of these Somali girls on twitter with blue check marks behave as if they ARE African Americans, when they are not. There is nothing wrong with supporting the political aspirations of African Americans, but it is disgusting to try and become the voice of an ethnic group you are not a member of. It is this lack of pride & confidence in their Somalinimo that rubs members on this site the wrong way, not their political advocacy for black rights.
couldnt sum it up better.....but their defense is always we hate blacks and are jealous. Like you said how you gonna act like you speak for a group of people who you dont belong to, you dont live in the same country nor have experienced their history. It takes a lot of nerve actually

She and the rest of the BLM Somalis are idiots.

I never understood why being black has to equate to joining struggles other black people face that aren't their own.

Italians are white. The Irish are white. Does it make any damn sense for Italians to protest for a free and independent Ireland, just because he's white? Nope.

Same logic applies here.

AAs were enslaved. They went through Jim Crow. They went through the civil rights movement where many of their heroes died in plain sight or went to prison. They also went through systematic oppression and discrimination. Hell, now there's the Industrial Prison Complex, and AAs getting shot in their own car from a traffic cop in a somewhat monthly basis.

Somalis have not gone through ANY of this shit. So why the f*ck are they talking as if they're a part of the struggle? That's what pisses me off about them. They're not a part of it.

I support their struggle.

I'm just not disrespectful enough to impose myself in the struggle. You can acknowledge a group as going through a pain and empathize. But people should still be realistic enough to know that they don't belong to said struggle.

I agree fully....its actually disrespectful what they do when you think about it. They play on the fact that the AA community has always been open in taking in people who side with them as they need allies in their battle. But these people have gone too far and what tariq said isnt one off. you see a lot of AA people on twitter and forums say the same thing about people who dont belong to their community trying to live off their communitys struggle. If these girls are not careful they will see a backlash soon

Being part of the struggle but don't support it. Sxb am confused please explain :umwhat:
If you and your people are actually involved in the struggle. As in, you get faced with systemic oppression. You and your people get shot on a monthly basis by the police. You came from slavery. Your people experienced Jim Crow. Your people had leaders who tried to make the lives of their descendants better, dying or being imprisoned in the process. Etc. Then you are actually a part of the struggle.

Obviously you can be a part of the struggle and support it.

Somalis are not a part of the struggle. But they can support it.

However, BLM Somalis just speak as if they are a part of the struggle. They don't however, participate in the struggle and the cause to make an outright change. From my experience seeing them, they generally don't care as much as they claim.

It’s time black people know the truth... Somalis took part in selling slaves. They sold slaves to the Arabs and so forth.

I don’t understand how we came from selling slaves to crying about wanting to be apart of those slaves that were sold by our grandfathers. Our grandfathers are rolling in their graves right about now!!!

I’m disappointed...
