Somalis' Specific Mtdna clades

HA Activist.
I came out as haplogroup N (Mtdna) very rare apparently, and very Israeli!

:snoop: :mjlol:
It’s not rare at all. It’s common among horners, and significant throughout the Middle East
What can you guys tell me about this?

Well it’s very very common for East Africans to share Mtdna with Yemenis apparently. I’ve read somewhere that there was a migration from the Arabian peninsula to the Horn around the Ice Age. Could explain why there’s so much Yemenis and other Arabs branching close to all our non African lineages. But the same is true for our African lineages, meaning we have also had a significant impact on them.

Browse through this to spot Horn-specific lineages. Even among those Ns and Rs if you go deep enough, it starts becoming Horn or East African specific.

@Prince Abubu, how much did you pay for the test?

I want get the test after Rona. inshaAllaah

I know 23&Me is the best for Somalis.

Do I get both Haplogroup results. (Both Y and mtdna)

Yes

thanks bro.

Basically all Northeast African mtdna and ydna is dominated or heavily represented by Arabians and other Eurasians right now.

R0a2g and R0a2b and Hv1b1 are basically Cushitic and Northeast African lineages.

Alot of Somali N lineages are unresolved and some are very basal.

The Takrori shelter N* Saharan Neolithic mtdna and U6 and M1 in paleolithic North african IBM indicates a paleolithic and Neolithic diversity of very divergent Eurasian mtdna in Northeast Africa.

Only higher resolution K1a Somalis are K1a12a, which doesnt have as broad a representation in the Horn. It could be Semitic or late West Asian ancestry.

I'm pretty sure we will see Abgaal and Murusade with B4a1a1 soon hhhhh
im abgaal and im pretty sure i dont have B4a1a1

Hi y'all.

Is it possible for all the somalis that have done 23andme tests to post their 23andme assigned Mtdna results as well as processing their raw data into https://dna.jameslick.com/mthap/ (which does not even take 4m) to see what their sub-clades might be.
I am particularly interested in the R0a somalis.

(You can try to find your clade on https://www.yfull.com/mtree/, which is cool)

There is difference between Y-haplogroups and mtdna-haplogroups. I think you are confusing between the both, there is no E in mtdna as of yet ! mtDNA traces back your ancestral female root that is mother to grandmother to great grandmother....
