Even worse than this @DalsanJubiland being proven to be spreading misinformation, GaroweOnline is officially in the fake news business. They originally listed no sources, and have not issued a correction on the BS they made up.
Garoweonline is just another lander hater like that unhinged female loser who’s just spews nonsense and rumours with nothing to show for in this thread. :kanyeshrug:

Pretty much agree with everything you've said. The only part where I disagree slightly is the impact of the trip. I don't expect any immediate tangible results from the trip. However, the optics and what this means in diplomatic terms means, I think will deliver positive results in the future.

Firstly, the fact that the US is inviting and meeting on American soil with Somaliland is a big step forward. As much lip service as they will give to respecting the "sovereignty" of Somalia, they are readily admitting that this visit flies in the face of that. Secondly, with these meetings Somaliland can showcase its progress, present its plans for its future, and more directly address its grievances/challenges. That all has tremendous value in building the SL-US relationship and further cementing ourselves as a truly separate entity from Somalia. Regardless of recognition, that is an important factor in hopefully obtaining development funds/investments directly from the US in the short-term, and paving a path towards towards a more direct diplomatic relationship in the long-term.
Totally agree with you! There's been a recent reassessment by the Americans (Thanks to Farmaajo) , they see no progress in Somalia while in SL they see a suitable stable partner in a even more strategic location then the Indian Ocean positioned Somalia Italiana. There will be more discussion on direct American aid ,counter terrorism, and maritime security.

As they grow more dissilusioned with the children in Xamar, they will be more assertive and direct in their relations with SL.Bixii unlike his corrupt predecessor has managed to weather the terrible geopolitical storm in the Horn,From the removal of TPLF, war in Yemen and the intensification of the cold war between the Middle Eastern powers which has now subsided.

I think you forget about establishing ties with Taiwan which also played a role for the US to open up to us :yousmart:

Then what’s the point, Silaanyo got nothing out of his visit but ridicule. It’s a waste of money :cosbyhmm:

The last visit by Silaanyo in 2013 came at the time when

-China didn't have a military base in Djibouti
-The Federal Government of Somalia was just established which the US built with the international community
-Somalia & SL talks just started - a week before the visit the US HSM and Silaanyo had a historical talk in Turkey
-Somaliland had no global investors

The context is so different in 2022 where now it's in the best interest for the US to directly engage with SL :liberaltears:

The world had changed drastically. We had the rise of Abiy who first snubbed SL in favour of Xamar but after Western pressures over the war in Tigray and the TDF attempts at starving Addis by cutting the Djibouti-Addis corridor even made that narcissistic turd turn around and embrace SL and Bixii.

The Taiwanese relations has put us on the world stage.DP World's Berbera port and the corridor has been on time thanks to Bixii.Siilanyo's time and Bixii's time is like night & day!

Forget it, Washingtons Advisory have already said Duuso Bixi won’t be meeting with Biden, they even compared it to Silyaano’s failed visit back in 2013.
:lolbron:

They?

Von Batten-Montague-York LC is a one man lobby "group" and his name is Karl Von Batten.

Somali diaspora (not the gov) lobby this one guy. What's ironic he also lobbies for Somalis in Ogaden against Chinese oil drilling and persecution from the state. So his lobbying is confused and inconsistent :mjlol:

USA tends to have a direct relationship for the most part with Somalia, most likely they would just continue dealing with them and not bother with Somalia’s imaginary country (state?), a repeat of Silaanyo all over again.

Somalilad is an embarrassment to all Somalis, these Negro uncle Sams would lick any foreign who looks at their way and give them any attention, akhas, time to dismantle this anti-Somali traingle desert state.

Let us hope President Deni wins this upcoming election and authorizes a full invasion of this weak and incompetent administration of the north before the sign Saylac to Ethiopia for recognition.:wow1:

Federal Republic of Somalia ?
Ofcourse they would add that, no one here is claiming the Americans have recognized SL...

What's actually interesting is that Visa class required him to have an interview at an embassy prior to attaining it (either did it in Djibouti or Addis) and the other requirements below:

  • Full-time employee assigned by that government, coming only to work at a foreign embassy or consulate in the United States, to perform duties which take place at an embassy
  • Government official representing your government, coming to the United States based on written request of your country to perform official, government related duties for not more than 90 days
  • Foreign military members stationed at a U.S. military base or assigned to a foreign embassy or consulate in the United States
  • Staff of European (EU) and African Union (AU) delegation representatives
  • Immediate family members of an A-2 visa holder
