I think it’s okay if you like a particular skin tone, we all have different preferences. But I’m talking about the guys who are dark themselves and have dark female relatives and yet look down on dark skin or think negatively about darker skin. That means you don’t like a part of yourself .

Or it means they think lighter skin is a more attractive trait on a female.

No one says short girls hate themselves when they prefer taller guys, poor girls hate themselves if they want rich dudes, or average girls hate themselves if they want a supermodel looking guy.

Not really. lightskin complexion just make females appear more attractive when majority of the population are dark skin. I used to have a preference for lightskin girls when I used to live back home as well but it wasn't anything serious. My high school girlfriend was duxul and pretty. The main reason somali women bleach their skin to get lighter is because they wanna stan out from other competing xalimos since wealthy men are hard to come by.

True majority of Somalis are dark but this forum so happens to be filled with light skins and mariins

Most Somalis have a reddish brown mariin skin colour naturally. Only a very small percentage have light skin .

The thing is that in Somali families and even siblings you will find a variety of skin colours. So these guys that look down on dark skin hate on their own sisters,aunts, grandmothers etc .

Actually I find most Somalis have mariin with yellow/gold undertones
