Skin colour "preference" is self-hate disguised.

Whenever I met a Somali guy who talks/praises my skin for being light, I would be disgusted and they would always be dark/maariin!

If I married a dark skinned/maariin man my daughter would probably resemble him so would I want her to have a colourist father? Nope.

Your dark skinned genes will carry on and most likely dominate your gene pool so unless you marry a White woman, your children will look like you.

That's also why I am disgusted by non-Somali African men who love Somali women, they clearly don't like their own phenotype but again, their children always resemble them and not the Somali mother!

Skin is beautiful in all shades but you know what's not attractive: Self-hate disguised as a "preference".

Who taught you to hate your own skin colour? Most likely your father/mother have the same skin colour as you so what's the issue?

Also, light skin is a recessive Somali trait, most Somalis are maariin or dark skinned, don't believe me? Look at images of Somalis back home, it's rare to spot a light skinned Somali.

So, shouldn't we praise maariin? Since that's our dominant skin colour? I heard that originally Somali nomads loved the maariin over all skin tones.

Colourist views are unfortunately a reality for much of the world.

Look at Asia's and Africa's high rates of skin bleaching really tells you the full story of high bad it has gotten.

Even looking at Western society the problem is quite evident. Hollywood always casting mixed women as black whilst their black counterpart don't face the same problem.

Coming from a family with diverse skin tones it hurts that people would say nasty things about them just because of their colour.

Hamdullilah I've never had that issue personally, I've always felt more attracted to women of African descent, mainly Somalis of course. But a beautiful dark skin West African women would be a lot more attractive to me then say an equally as beautiful Arab or white woman.

Not to mention my stomach turns when I hear some of my friends (Somalis and non-somali Africans) say to cadaan or non-black women they don't f*ck with black girls for whatever reason they may have. They end up putting them up on a pedestal and lowering themselves without even knowing it, then they're shocked when some ugly fat cadaan chick pulls up to them in a bar and genuinely thinks she has a shot with them


Oh and another thing I find thoroughly entertaining is telling cadaans/or what non-black women, that I'd never see myself get in a serious relationship with a non-black women. Some would listen to my reasoning and agree, others would just wild out and call me a racist. I just say, it's my preference.

Some Somalis have been infected with the disease that light skin = feminine. So light skinned women are the most "desirable" and light skinned men are "weak".

Nah white to brown color is prettiest. Dark skinned isn't preferred by most men.
