Gunmen hailing from Majerteen/Omar Mohamud clashed in near UNHCR compound in Galkacyo (North) in the morning of 16/09. Reports indicate that the clash followed after a heated dispute over an ownership of a piece of land between the two warring sides. Local elders intervened and separated the two fighting militias. A militia man was reportedly injured.

Gunmen hailing from Majerteen/Usman Mohamud and Majerteen Isse Mohammud clashed in Hanti-Wadaag neighbourhood of Garowe in the morning of 13/01 over an escalated dispute on land ownership. One combatant was reportedly injured in the clash. Police arrested six combatants.


Armed men from Rer Mahad and Rer Qalaf (who are both Umar Mohamud-Majerteen Clan) clashed over the ownership of a parcel of land in an area close to Warshad Kaabka in Galkacyo north on 06/04. One combatant was killed and two others injured. Puntland police intervened and managed to disperse the two sides.

Reports indicate that two armed militia clashed over the construction of livestock holding-ground in Laanta Hawada (14km E of Garowe town) in the morning of 19/11. The incident happened after pastoralists attacked the people at the construction site claiming that the area is a grazing land for their livestock. Both groups hail from Majerteen/Isse Mohamud. Elders and police intervened to defuse the tension. No casualties were reported.

Clan militias hailing from Majerteen/Wabeeneeye sub-clan and Warsangali/Dubeys sub-clan clashed in vicinity of Qaw village (16km W of Bosasso) on the afternoon of 30/01. The confrontation was linked to a land dispute and it lasted for about one hour. Casualties are unknown. Governor of Bari region and the regional police commissioner, supported by 10 technicals, reached the area to prevent further clashes. The situation remains tense.

Deadly clashes between two clan militias from Majerteen/Omar Mohamud and Dhulbahante/Baharsame sub-clans broke out in Qoriley Village (56km S of Laas Caanood) on 23/09. At least 20 people were reportedly killed.

A Jubaland soldier hailing from Majerteen shot and killed his colleague from Ogaden near the State House (Kismaayo) in the afternoon of 23/11 following a dispute over land ownership. The perpetrator was arrested, sentenced to death and executed the next day, following an agreement between the two clans.

Gunmen hailing from the Majerteen shot and killed a mason working on a construction site in Farjano neighbourhood (Kismaayo) in the morning of 12/07. Reports indicate that the incident came following an escalated land dispute between a woman (Mareehan) and a man (Majerteen), where the woman started constructing the disputed land before an agreement was reached. No arrests were reported regarding the incident.

Excuse me I am puntite how are those people relevant to me? Do you deny the history of Puntland and it's ancient cities?
