Reports indicate that the clash followed after a heated dispute over an ownership of a piece of land between the two warring sides. Local elders intervened and separated the two fighting militias. A militia man was reportedly injured.
Gunmen hailing from Majerteen/Usman Mohamud and Majerteen Isse Mohammud clashed in Hanti-Wadaag neighbourhood of Garowe in the morning of 13/01 over an escalated dispute on land ownership. One combatant was reportedly injured in the clash. Police arrested six combatants.
