Well according to some books and suugo scientist here Somalis migrated from northern Somalia to south in 1000 bc so the puntis were probably proto Somalis, or just cushit the ancestors to proto somalis, idk

As far as I know now, cushitic left north east Sudan 9 k yrs ago southward to the horn and continued even to southeast Africa. It took them thousands of years to reach there. With every migration they start splitting and each group probably developed its identity, culture and language/dialect. That continued until 2000-1000 bc ? Where our ancestor ancestors (proto-somalis) became a distinct group and start migrating to southern Somalia

Who knows tbh. We need to value education and archaeology. Until we respect that we will never unravel the mystery. Don't hope to much tho, we have to find proof first.
