The Uyghur population in Xinjiang has increased between 2015 and 2018 (from 11,303,300 to 11,678,646). Also, one child policy only applied to the Han and not the Uyghers. That’s why ethnic minorities have increased their share of the population from 7 to 9 % in China from 1950-today, which will increase even further because this data doesn’t reflect on recent trend of Han population aging problem(since they are the victims of the one child policy).
