For sure they will eventually and also put it in the constitution. But I think it’ll be baby steps.

First unified customs, taxes and then eventually sharing revenue and in exchange getting rid of border taxes. FGS managing security and checks as they are national security matters.

But you can still have private company run a port like Xamar is run by Al-Bayrak but is controlled by the FGS

We’re going to need this otherwise Ethiopia will just sign a contract with whoever is going to lease their port for the cheapest

I think we’ll see a Xarardheere port too. Saleebaan won’t be happy the port will be deep in Sacad territory. But it’s not feasible South Hobyo from what people have told me due to the more softer rock there, a lot more expensive apparently.

Cayr will support both I believe. Mahad Salad is backing his Sacad abtis to build the Hobyo port. And we also live in xarardheere so if Saleebaan want a port there then we’d likely back that too.

Waceysle want a port in Mareeg too and they also have enough wealth to fund it.

Anyway Somalia will have lots of ports. Let’s just hope we can agree on not undercutting each other

This would require discipline and lack of xaasidnimo, but they don't have that mentality in Galnus. Instead, they will put isbaaro in front of each other to spite each other. I can't wait for them to have fishing pier, I mean "Port" wars.

Yeah, I remember how long it took to make Sacad and Saleebaan agree with each other on Hobyo.

Rivalry is good, but don't let it get in the way of the progress of the state/region. The inter-HG 'disputes' is why Hobyo took so long. But it seems to be past us now.

Hobyo port after second phase will be able to concurrently unload 3 ships and 8 boats.

Mogadishu unloads around 35 vessels a month. A vessel unloading can take about 1-3 days.

So potential capacity monthly in dollars will be in the hundreds of millions of goods. Initially demand will be mostly from Galmudug and Hiiraan which is enough as that is the most export demanding areas in Somalia with the massive amount of livestock
