We were getting dissed by Somalia folks when this act was in parliament as it also includes a minimum age of marriage and conditions to giving protections to women to pursue their lives rather be pressured into marriage.
And people were spreading propaganda this law was going to make our people more promiscuous and fluid
As much as I might come across as hard headed, i'm disgusted at the idea of someone justifying female forced marriages. This is something that happens.
Every woman deserves to be in a happy healthy marriage to a man of her choosing.
We are human beings, with thoughts, feelings and dreams. I just wish some men understood this, rather than thinking of us as being mere objects that can be controlled and used.
But you have to choose your battles better. You have to accept not everyone shares those ideas and cant talked out of it
And that's why this law b was passed and now enacted this now show girls all over Somaliland what to do if they're out into this situation and what can they do to get out of it
