Muslim countries do not equate to Islamic countries.

A Secular country can be predominantly Muslim, therefore be called a Muslim country. A country can only be Islamic if the gov't rules by Islamic law.
Islamic countries exist. Your opinion won’t change that.

goes for both actually. In the past it was actually for the non believer since there were sahabas who were spreading the deen and were sent to different places but now, only with a click of a buttom/mouse you can know more about Islam, right?

Muslims should follow the teachings of Islam. Then there's really no need of forcing someone "to do that, do this" when they already know the teachings of Islam. Just give 'em advise, not forcing someone to wear hijaab, do you know what forcing them does to that person. That person you're forcing the hijaab on is really not wearing it for modesty or for Allah but fear of a human being possibly harming them if they don't do a certain thing and that's not Islam.

I woulda agreed if there was a good fair, islam judge(qadi) to rule on that, but an unstable corrupt gov doing that is pretty hypocritical. :bell:
Nicee talking to u homie, you're an amazing human being but am watching the NFL game

It’s not that serious
I can distinguish between Islam and Arabs. Niqab and Hijab is not Arab but Adamic. Our mother Xawo AS wore it and so did all the women of the Prophets. Islam is a continuing that legacy.

Do not confuse hatred for Arabs for Islam.Islam is from The King of Kings himself walal
I understand but the wives of the prophet are held to a completely different standard. Nowhere is it stated that niqab is compulsory. In my opinion hijab is open to interpretation and women should still be able to express themselves while maintaining modesty. I really don’t understand this whole shaming women who don’t conform to cultural pressures. At the end of the day it’s a private matter between each individual and Allah swt. Just my 2 cents.

I personally don't care but I believe Somali women Should wear the Abaya or something modest if they don't want to wear the headscarf. They can also wear traditional clothes but that's modest and loose. Also the headscarf should be encouraged in Society, that's my opinion.

What happens in public is no longer a private matter between you and Allah swt but a public matter. You're actions have an impact on society. The problem is westernisation encourages Individualism and Narcissism.

Our actions must not bring harm to the collective and we must work for is right, not what we want at the expense of the collective

If your gonna force your daughter to wear it. Make sure you do it from a young age and tell her why you should love the hijab.
Thats what the Prophet pbuh taught. From the age 7 and onwards hijab should be taught and enforced. A loving father with wisdom will make her understand and she will obey. This current generation of Xaarlimos have deadbeat fathers who will be held to account by Allah swt

Raw Hard Truth
The Muslim Brotherhood still plagues them.

What I don't understand is why Somali Muslim Men are so fucking concerned if Somali women wear hijab in Somalia.

I think Somalia has the highest (forced) hijab compliance rates in the world, but the country is still a 9th world underdeveloped nation. So clearly Somali women not wearing hijab is the problem. I also see a big issue with women wearing heavy jilbaabs that cause them heatsroke and was not manufactured to be in complliance with the somali weather/environment. But Somali men can wear a macawis and a tanktop ( REGIONAL APPROPRIATE CLOTHING) during the summer heat. Utter bullshit. That's what bothers me most about 'Hijab/Abaya' in Somalia. The Women getting heatstroke and literally suffering.

Why can't our useless men keep the same energy for fighting poverty and corruption. I simply do not understand the obsession with how women dress in Africa, when there's bigger issues.

But I also blame the women for simply falling in line into their own oppression.

If all Somali women unite past tribal lines, honestly we can take the country lol. Most educated, open minded and disciplined people in Somalia are the women, we are also the numerical majority.

Alas.
