Why are you and @Merca making me cringe?Absolutely! Add to the fact that we tend to make fun of those who try to speak af-somali. Alhamdulilah though, I speak good af-somali for someone who has born and raised in the west and has never been to Somalia. For me, it was primarily due to the fact that my parents spoke to us in af-somali at such a young age; they did not make any accommodations lol! So I found it easy to pick up the language and be able to communicate with my ayeeyo, awoowe and other relatives. Kids are like sponges and can learn many diff languages simultaneously. But obviously as with anything, you can improve if you put the time and effort into it. Learning af-somali is no exception.
