Many of those in Gojjam are of Oromo origin, however, I am not sure how many of them, since the population has grown a lot since the days of menelik, and even prior to that.
The pure Amhara are a minority-they themselves know this.
Anyways. What's important is, that they appear to be losing to the tigrayan's, which is why they feel anger at abiy for not sending more people, resources, arms, to the frontlines.
but abiy is working on that, he is forcefully recruiting oromo youth in jimma, arsi, and elsewhere.
Why dont they themselves show enthusiasm like they showed before during invasion if Tigray? We had seen columns of amhara peasants matching to the front lines with their weapons and their civilians on the streets were bidding them fair well and victory.

How can Abiy and Caruusa trust each other when Caruusa are famously the most anti AddisAbaba Oromo tribe and Abiy locked up Jawar? Would Abiy really trust them enough to conscript/pay, train them and trust they wont join a rebel group

He is so desperate, that, he'd send dogs and cats to go fight, if he could, at this point.
Those forced to fight, will either fight badly and be injured/captured/killed, or surrender, and get sent back home somehow.
one mistake tplf/tdf recently made tho, is angering afars, when they used heavy artillery weapons indiscriminately, which killed many afar civilians. so now they are mobilizing against tdf.
Warya afar are double agents.
Afar support TDF and pretend to oppose them.
Its Afars that helped ENDF to be wiped out in Afar.
Abye deserves this.He refused to release oromo political prisoners and has imprisoned and jailed oromos.
Next time oromos shoyld never trust someone whose mom is amhara and was raised by them.

Im not sure if he tells the truth but that sounds realistic and it probably means Abiy cannot put down large scale insurgencies. General Tsadqan also strongly emphasizes the role of Shacbiya/Afewoqi but he is probably exaggerating at the point of saying ENDF are being commanded by Eritreans
Amara population is definitely inflated in Ethiopia as is the amara orthodox number. So inflated in fact that the modern amara ethnic group is pretty much a confederation.
A common misconception people make is that the population of the amara region is a good reflection of the population of the amara ethnic group which is false.
The amara region is one of Ethiopias most diverse regions;
Agew awi zone and oromia zone are both almost completely non amara and alone make up 10% of the amara regions population.
North and south wollo have a high population of wollo oromos who have been amharaised and now speak amharic, and to make the blatant absorption of the people believable they now call these amarigna speaking oromos the “bete amara”. The word wollo itself has no meaning in amarigna and is originally the name of an oromo tribe, that should tell you who’s the majority. Other than the amarigna speaking oromo, many argobba have also been assimilated into the wollo amara especially in dessie, Wollos largest town.
In the wag hemara zone there are rayya amara (and raya azebo) who are obviously assimilated oromos since rayya is an oromo clan name like wollo is.
In north shewa, the shawan amara that live there (menz and mijar ) have absorbed a large chunk of tulama oromos from back when tulama dominated shawa. There are also non assimilated tulama That live there as well as some karrayu oromo.
Gojjame has a lot of oromo aswell but these ones are macca not tulama and I don’t know much about them.
On the case of gondere, being an important city to orthodoxes a lot of tegaru moved into the city and the region as a whole. Over time these tegaru were assimilated and became amarigna speakers and then part of the amara ethnic group.
And finally, the clear elephant in the room is the bete israel. They’re counted as amara to boost numbers but these people have never in their history considered themselves amhara and are genetically slightly different. Tegaru share more with amara genetically than bete israel who are originally agews who adopted Judaism (or W Judaism like religion). Bete israel still speak their native agaw dialect alongside the language of their occupiers.
There’s also the mysterious weyto group to take into consideration. Some say they were omotic some Cushitic but what we know is that their Living descendants have no assimilated into the great amara nation, specifically the gojjame.
Modern amara are a confederacy, the amara kings of gondere and shawa dealt more casualties to eachother than even the oromo expansion did. What baffles me is how they’re not blood related yet relatively United

Canfarta don't support TDF and the Tigray invasion of their territories and now more than 50,000+ of Canfarta pastoralist are driven from their homes and in dire need of aid
