Hijab existed with the sahaba and salaf. thats a fact, maybe you cant read or understand arabic but I suggest you start reading books of seerah, and then biographies of the salafThere is no hijab in the Quran. Yeah I said it, there's only an ayah that says the women shall use their qimars to cover their breasts. Until the 18th century, hijab as we know it today did not exist in the Muslim world. The Muslim brotherhood and the Salafi movement created the institution of hijab in an effort to fight communism and the growing socialist regimes.
Now that Wahhabism won in the Muslim world, women are forced to wear the hijab but any Muslim country that didn't allow the spread of Wahhabism, hijab is rare. Turkey, The Balkans, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Central Asia barely even have hijab. The khimar is sunnah because it is needed in prayer just like a man must wear a shirt that isn't stuck in prayer but it's not cawrawh if he wears a skinny shirt or skinny jeans for every day life. The same goes for a women that shoes her hair but covers her awrah.
u probably wouldnt want to do that tho because youll end up thinking most of the sahaba and salaf are "extreme"
