I've said this before but I'll say it again this niqab/hijab phenomenon is some arab customs imported over this way. You look back before the civil war and nobody wore niqab and even the hijab was styled completely different. Don't believe me look at pictures of your own mother and grandmother and not a tent wearing jilbab/niqab in sight.
