We became westernised if anything. Who walks around wearing cultural clothing in this day and age? They use arabisation excuse just to attack islam. Wearing Hijab which is a fard doesnt make us any less somali.
Probably some devout Somali Shafici Sufi who laugh at any supposed connection to gaal Africans.

They think original African culture is dressing half naked or in rags and being in huts. They are what they hate most.
They cannot handle an especially Muslim people like Somali or Sudani being advanced. They give Ethiopia a pass though, as you see in the previous post they are happy to claim them as superior.

Yes, “African nationalists” have a prevailing idea, which is that to be African “in their eyes” is to wear semi-naked clothes in the Bedouin style, and your house consists of huts. Also, a Somali camel herder has more in common with Saudis and Yemenis than many other black afican populations. Somalis were once sending sadaq to Dubai and Saudi. The average Somali in those days probably never heard of Congo or Uganda. Somalis didn’t even mix with the Samburu and the hatred was mutual.
While I am not one of those Somalis that claims to be Arab, I think we need to be careful about the colonial attempt to erase Somalis links to Arab people in favour of unity or cultural similarly to some random Africans tribe with whom we have never interacted with. It’s just a covert way to chip away at our Islamic heritage. The accusation of Somalis being too arabised is just a code word for Islam. Funny thing, these guys will then claim all kinds of Islamic civialisations like the Moors, Mali, etc, lol.
Funny thing is that the more we go back in time, the more Levantine we were as a people. During our migration southwards we acquired more of that ancient East African DNA. The older Cushites were closer to 60-70% Natufian like ancestry.

pretty sure some of them also have a disdain for christianity but are ok with western liberalism mixed in with african pageantry. islam and “arabism” is nothing but cultural erasure for them hence the words “invasion” or “arab colonization”

Afrocentrics hate North Sudanese people. Many also view Somalis as an extension of the Sudanese “Arab rape babies”. It was an underground ideology but the white liberals have somehow almost made it mainstream with their support for BLM out of guilt.
