My only problem with Deni is I don't think he speaks a lick of English.

We need a president that can communicate well & directly with international partners. I also question the level of education one has speaking Somali only. How can one read important documents from international institutions relating to security and development issues without understanding English?

Again correct me if I'm wrong but never seen him speak English, I think it's important for leader to be able to, especially a nascent country like Somalia.

Deni running might actually help farmaajo. HAGS might dislike farmaajo but there's no way they'll vote in for Deni instead.

Farmaajo can now count on all of GM votes.

You’re clearly clueless about why he’s running. The constitution needs to be completed and if left in the hands of anti-federalists all the hard work Puntland put into the system will be for nothing. What President Deni is doing is for the good of Puntland.

The 1 issue I have with this is if he succeeds PLs autonomy is likely to weaken as there's likely less issues to pop up

And once PL sets the precedent of allowing one president to weaken its autonomy it'll be indefensible to not do that for the next.

Because what is undeniable is that he's bound to go and likely a non federalist leader will take his place after

They are different ethnic groups, with different languages, cultures and even different forms of Christianity.

Furthermore, “ethnic or tribal” identity in the UK and Western Europe has been dead for centuries.

Even in Africa, tribe isn’t as important as it is in Somalia.

What will it take for Somalia to realise how fucking backwards qabiil is.

It’s no different than the Indian caste system except for having killed more people.

It's evident you don't know the history of nations or the state building process

As for Somalia it's a very new state. A Frankenstein one stitched together so it's hardly any surprise Somalis are still figuring things out

Sheikh Dabcasar has thrown his support behind Deni.

Do you know who you speaking to sis, I said long before Deni will run in the presidential election, and I even created a thread that I support Deni and Farmaajo, either way Darood shall rule 2 terms like Hawiyo ruled two consecutive terms. The Hawiyo created in their mind this fake deal that Deni was willing to accept PM post, he did not even back stab them, the heshiish was they fight Farmaajo and remove him create havoc in Mog and he would fund it, thats it, they failed, there was no deal about MJ PM and Hawiyo President, that was just me mocking MJs. I would be the last to oppose MJ rulling these hutus, during the SYL we had a border clear border with Hutus, during Kacaan he lifted that border and all hell broke lose.

@Dalalos_ibn_Adali the problem with HAG candidates all of them are sunday school teachers or NGO experienced, they have no political experience, they were supposed to return to GM/HS and learn how to govern they're people first and from there propose themselves before the Somali people. At least then, there is track-record one can observe not just empty words.

I mean a clan that cannot even visit his own towns and wants to run Somalia 'wax caqliga galayo ma aha', if those type of leaders arise in Hamar, we are screwed as a nation. Those clans don't care if Somalia is governed or not becuz he cannot even visit his own town, why would he care for Somalia well being?

Deni has worked hard in PL, he can speak from 'experience' n back up what he says. The only nation in the world who elect presidents with no prior experience in government is Somalia and you wonder why the world is shocked with this place.

Yes he has to step down and hand power to the VP. It happened with Abdillahi Yusuf handing power over to Hashi. But answer me, my question? isn't this how normal nations work? that people first have experience in government before running for president?

Trump was the only president in American modern history to win without govt experience and look how we was dumped quickly. Sharif was a good president only because his 'la taliye was a puntite dhulbahante'.

But look when HSM came who kept his circle around 'dam jadiid', the nation nearly went back to 91 conditions with his war on PL in 2016 and JL also, that's what happens when u elect a leader where his own town 'shabab rule' like ceel-dheer.

Somalia deserves the most competent leader to run it, no more testing n trying diaspora rejects, if the diaspora want to be president of somalia, wa inu horta gurigisa aada for at least 5-10 years and show us what his made of, if they cannot do that, then why u think he can help Somalia? only a fool will think that person has any agenda besides 'madaxwayne ii dhaha' kkkkkk he will leave behind no legacy similar to HSM.

At least with Sharif he stepped away and let Farole n Gaas get to work on constitution, ending transition and leavin behind a legacy. Farmajo hasn't achieved a damn thing either. It's time for a Puntite President in Hamar, at least we know things will get done.

@cow u don't know politics u think it's a popularity contest and not about proven experience. Deni has dam-jadiid in the bag as he was apart of their team in 2016 which is a big voting bloc within parliament.

Round 1 every clan will run, but in Round 2 they will do a coalition with the candidate with the highest votes. Deni already has the trust of UAE funders and also Qatar becuz he worked as a minister in dam-jadiid days. He will be seen as the most neutral person for Qatar n Dubai and this will order the Parliament to all throw behind their votes for him.

The other thing is if he steps down, then it's over, he wouldn't risk his own seat if he didn't know the outcome of the election prior thru his alliances.

I believe Farmaajo has a good chance of coming back. Deni running will split up the Darod supporters. This would benefit Farmaajo because he has been in Mogadishu for 5 years making allies in the country and outside the country. If they want to unseat Farmaajo, Deni and Madobe should be supporting someone who is not Darod.

LOL

You guys notice the kacaanists are pulling out the Daarood card, to make this seem like a qabiilist election. There is no such thing as Daarood politically or the 'Daarood vote'. Puntites have only one qabiil and that's ensuring autonomy and equality for all Somalis regardless of background.

Check out the FKD section to see how much they are panicking right now.
