A lot of men spend time focusing on their rights rather than understanding that they too have rights they have to fulfil.

A man will be asked about how he treats his wife.

The best of men, are the ones that are best to their wives.

The whole macho, treat them mean, keep them keen is not in accordance with the way the Prophet s.a.w treated his wives.

There are hadiths that tell us how loving the Prophet s.a.w was towards his wives. He was very expressive and affectionate towards his wives.

Well said.

They think being humane to a wife is OPTIONAL, lmao.
Let's see how it plays out for these people on the day of judgement.

Does providing for a wife mean a husband is neglected?

I know what rights a husband has over his wife but you do not know what rights a wife has over her husband.

A MAN who follows the sunnah deserves to be honoured, respected and catered to.

A MALE who hates women, neglects their needs and brags about it, will be punished in this world and in the hereafter.

Both spouses caring and being compassionate with one another is a blessing from Allah swt and is in important in the Household which has nothing to do with this thread.

This thread is about how men should degrade themselves just to get a woman's attention:bell:

Ibn Maajah (1853) and al-Bayhaqi (14711) narrated that ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa said: When Mu‘aadh ibn Jabal came from Syria, he prostrated to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who said, “What is this, O Mu‘aadh?” He said, I went to Syria and saw them prostrating to their archbishops and patriarchs, and I wanted to do that for you. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, “Do not do that. If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone other than Allah, I would have commanded women to prostrate to their husbands. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, no woman can fulfil her duty towards Allah until she fulfils her duty towards her husband. If he asks her (for intimacy) even if she is on her camel saddle, she should not refuse.

The Prophet scw also said in his last sermon

O People, it is true that you have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under God's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Treat your women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. It is your right and they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste

I have to admit my biggest objection is not related to female hygiene products as I clearly demonstrated.

I have problem with the mindset of 'Look I have done this for my wife/husband or relative'

I see it as a sickness that is why I am objecting Mercury and his thread.

Do you see a parent writing or asking questions regarding their adult children? No is the answer.

Some things are natural like caring for your child, parent, partner or other relative.

Why does Mercury seek brownie points. I do what I have to do and got on with it.

As the question of the toothpick was pretentious so is this thread.
Please tell me how it is a sickness if youre open about how you help your wife

Youre making it seem like its something that should be hidden from the public

I agree. I never said a man should mistreat his wife and neglect his duties

Having a period can be very painful and sometimes a woman runs out and cannot leave the house without one.

Getting a pad should be a simple as buying other household essential items.

Not degrading at all.

Spouses should be like garments for one another according to the Holy Quraan, that means to cover, shelter, protect etc, etc.

If your wife/husband needs something, you should do your best to provide it. Goes both ways.

Mercury caring for ones own kin should be not be done to brag about or sought some sort of recognition or alleviation over others on an forum.

Manly duties should be in action rather than words and not through irrelevant questions such as the example of the toothpick!

That mindset is what I don't like and is mostly found in western countries Somalis reside in. Back home men and women do their duties and beyond but don't talk about it.

While here in the west if a woman prepares packed sandwich for her working husband once in a blue moon it has to be recorded and posted online!

That is the insanity I was referring to.

I want to see your opinions about this topic a simple yes or no

Me personally I have on occasion buyed some to my girl when she’s asked and I don’t see nothing wrong about it would be immature to refuse
Aww that’s so sweet of u. But personally I rather buy feminine sanitary myself. I know my future husband will buy the cheapest and low quality brand so it’s better if I buy it myself.

Mentioning your favours on people or reminding them about your gifts is morally reprehensible.

In our religion if you give sadaqah and just merely remind the person of it, that action is null and avoid.

[2:264]

O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders or injury as does one who spends his wealth [only] to be seen by the people and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day

His example is like that of a [large] smooth stone upon which is dust and is hit by a downpour that leaves it bare. They are unable [to keep] anything of what they have earned. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people

We dont have an issue of buying tampons. The point we are making is why are we talking about periods and pedicures.
Manshallah. All men would buy that shit.
Lakiin it seems Mercury wants attention from the females on this forum.

@Mercury . let women talk about this stuff in the women's den. Not here and not you. Why hasnt any of the married women on here bring up this conversation. iis weydi

Of course. A man has to buy lady whatever she wants. Her right as a wife means that her maintenance is met and that includes even buying tampons. Even if she’s too lazy, he still has to get it.

We need more Somali gentlemen(s) in our society.

That’s true but we need to make these men work for it. Make him go back to the shop and get the correct one. :ftw9nwa:
