You can literally save 5k within a few months on a second job, or throughout a year picking up overtime and living frugal. Heck, you could enter a hagbad over being in debt to someone over a modest amount like 5k. You should avoid debt at all costs as a rule, but this case is clear cut if you ask me.

What is the business? Or at least declare the niche your in; Somalis have this weird way of putting more value on thier unexecuted ideas than what’s really on paper.

Are you online or a store front business?

People always assume they need an X amount to start a business and in reality you always need more.

Have you validated the business model yet?

You can learn a lot from the business your already working at, look beyond your role and see how the business actually operates. How do they get business, who are thier core customers, how do they advertise, what’s thier Audit control like, what’s thier culture like, how do they leverage thier debt.

You can learn a lot from where you are currently working, but many people just clock in and out like neefs and don’t really care or respect how the business that pays them actually operates.

My advice is that you save your money and validate your idea, if you can’t get a loan from a bank try and find ways to start the business on a lean budget and others might invest when they see some growth.

Asking your boss for money as actually more xoolonimo then anything else.
