Will the tribal fiefdoms achieve a fraction of this?

yes, they have none of these things because the kacaan era screwed up the entire country top to bottom. its worse than any clan enclave.

but yes, still better because now there's no oppressive regime killing people. Now they have the potential for growth is what I said
Oppressive regime killing people? That is open for interpretation, I’m sure the people in jail for writing their opinion on Facebook will disagree with you

still nothing compared to the crimes of the siyad barre regime. Anyway what your asking for isn't going to help somalia because the only thing you're going to be "centralizing" is corruption

So your argument is it’s better to have each clans eating from corruption than centralized government strong enough to enforce law and fight corruption :mindblown:

doomed society indeed

If puntland could not build any public school, any public hospital or any any public institution in 22 years what miracle will happen to make it look different with independence?

if you want to know how puntland will look with independence look no further just look at Djibouti.. now it will look 5 grades lower than Djibouti
The Kacaan regime you are so fond of didn't produce anything meaningful besides limited agricultural products and livestock export. It depended heavily on foreign handouts. Mostly from the two cold war super power rivals. It only invested in Xamar and neglected the rest of the country. And you're proud of that?
If the Kacaan built the whole country's infrastructure and developed Somalia's economy into a first world economy or even a second world economy and produced a well educated middle class Somali population and skilled laborers, then I myself would have been a big fan of the Kacaan. But it clearly didn't. And you're acting as if the Kacaan turned Somalia into a superpower with an indeginous defense industry and a space program. Wake up son, Kacaan is long gone and dead. It ain't coming back and it did Jack sh#t.

Kacaan didn’t produce anything? Not sugar? Not textile? Not home grown food? Not cement? Not cigarettes and beer?

didn’t it educate the crop of the clan leaders you so proud of today? There is no Somali government that has increased literacy than the Kacaan.

and yes the Kacaan didn’t turn somalia into super power but it turned it into regional power... now what have the qabil enclaves achieved after being in power more than the kacaan?

You’re speaking to me as if I’m not from there and a random stranger from Japan or something kkkk

even with hundred years puntland will not have any significant development trust me.

unless your understanding of development is a person building a hotel in garowe or another one building private home.
Well, if you can see the outcome of future events, then why don't you use it to do something useful with your life instead of wasting your time on Sspot have nostalgia about your beloved Kacaan?

I have already achieved much in my life with double masters and just barely 30 thanks to my parents believe in secularism and education.

besides the outcome won’t be any different than the last 22 years

We used to be proud that we were the strongest in Africa and we would argue that we were superior to Egypt, today Burundi has sergeants playing generals in Somalia.

I wonder what would have happened if MSB died in that accident and Cali Samatar became the new head of state.

It will tell what would most likely have happened!

the qabilists would say how can midgaan lead us? We better destroy everything and loot than to be lead by him.

the outcome would be the same

Cali Samatar was well respected, he was also significantly smarter than his contemporaries. I think he would have found a way to secure his power for a couple of terms before handing it off. Siads decision to come back and “win” an “election” was what destroyed the country its up there as one of the worst choices.

1.Siads Re-election
2.Cali Mahdis USC meltdown
3.Godanes refusal to the ceasefire and peace agreement
4.Abdullahi Yusufs TPLF War on the ICU
5.USC targeting of civilians
