I have be a long standing supporter of first cousin marriages. Even though there is a ~3% increased chance of birth defects when compared to non first cousin marriages, that doesn’t mean we should disregard it.

I have nothing against cousin marriages , it's not a thing in Somali culture and rarely ever happens.
