Im not denying anything, it did happend unfortuntly, but what does MSBs goverment have to do with the current somali goverment that exists today? Do you want them to apologizes for something they never were involved in?
Also saying we shouldnt ”reunite” with Somalia just sounds stupied, first of all you have to understand the fact that somalis dont see somaliland and Somalia as equals, somaliland is synonaymous with one tribe.
So if a somali goverment puts one tribe on a pedestal and tries to please them, then every tribe will want the same, cuz all the tribes were affected by Siad Barres regime.
The best soultion would be to reconcilte b/w all clans, were everyone should admit there wrongdoings and a somali goverment could step in as a mediator.

In Puntland:
- Nearly all villages in Puntland except Galkacyo were burnt down and the water supply poisoned so that no one could move back. (Rigomane, Gambarey, Bursalaax)
- In Galkacyo, livestock was butchered, women raped by soldiers and even children incarcerated for unknown periods of time including my father and his siblings.
- Reer Cumar Maxmuud that formed the first Somali resistance SSDF were either bribed to come to Xamar or hunted down and executed like many others before them.
After all this, when Barre fell it didnt get better....
USC did this:
- Murdered all military-aged MJ men in Mogadishu (including all the men living with my father who escaped in time)
- Raped MJ women that were found on sight in Mogadishu
- Stole the property of all us that were smart to leave
- Took over half of Galkacyo and with it all of the land that people invested in
- Massacred hundreds of civilians in Galkacyo including elders.

This is why Puntlanders get angered with Somaliland using Barre as an excuse to secede.

You say, or at least imply, it was fine. You revise history and say that is "happened to all of us". We say: never again, never again, never again.
