People here are attacking somaliland for being qabilist but dont want to admit their states are qabilist too. Im just saying you cant have the cake and eat it too

Just to clarify, we are not debating 'qabaliyad', who is more receptive to it, or not, but the question @Hirad raised was one of 'Somalinimo', where tiny, if active elements within SL diaspora have chartered a new path of disclaiming their Somalinimo. I wanted to challenge that by drawing a distinction between real people from central SL (I only associate SL politicking with reer Sh Ishaq), and mountebank fiddlers on the far-right peripheral fringe, check @Garaad Awal.

By all means, condemn 'qabaliyah', and I would support that.

No abayo im just trying to be as impartial as I can. Im not just gonna clap for everything puntland does just cause im mj. All those states are built on the basis of clan. Just cause puntland is more welcoming and kumbaya doesnt change that.

When our parents fled the country, our aunties and uncles went back to our ancestral lands and formed a system of government, so that we could have security, education and most importantly, no foreign troops on our land. How can you call that 'clannism'??

No matter what system we use, people will call it clannism, because guess what? The entire country is made up of clans, and clans live in their own lands.

The question is who is “our”? Lets be honest now, puntland is first and foremost based on qabiil and so is somaliland and those little states. If you agree with that then cool but I am against that.

Puntland is majority one clan yes. But guess what? So is Mogadishu. So, is every single region in Somalia, because the entire country is made up of qabiils. No system of governance will stop people from living in certain places, nor will it make people's clans disappear.

I find it very disrespectful when people claiming Majeerteen take issue with Puntland. Especially when they grew up in the comfort of the diaspora. Thanks to Puntland, my relatives back home are safe, they are not around foreign troops, their children go to school. It's not perfect, but it's home, and it's cosy. I thank and pray for all the brave men and women, who made this happen.

I went home myself, and I felt that there was a government, the minute you step into the Airport, there is security, and they are professional, and make you feel safe. Unless you have personally stepped foot in Puntland, why even speak on it.

Lets agree to disagree. I am mj but I disagree with federalism. It hasnt led to anything besides corruption and wars. Mogadishu is also wrong for being a qabiil state. I have been coming for them since day 1 im trying to be fair sis. Clearly this system is not working good. We need a centralised government and kill qabiil. Im just sick of poverty and wars. Can we just become civilised and stop living in the 1800’s mindset please? We are all somalis lets just be one people please

Did I tell you what to believe? Did I tell you what to support? We are only disputing the claims you are making about Puntland and Federalism, which are completely false.

Secondly, Qabiil is your family abtiris, it's not a gang, it's not a political stance. You can't run away from who your family is. Nobody is telling you to discriminate against other people, and if we want to be civilised, we need to learn how to respect each other and that's it.
