Why somaliland and not somalia

Every inch of land is claimed by a family/clan.

I had a proposal once, to make a rotating capital between all FMS, so the government spends a few months in each Federal State out of the year.

I think it would be good for security, and it means that if Somalia is ever invaded, the enemies can't claim to have 'captured the capital city'. It also gives equal attention and funding to all FMS.
I understand where you are coming from. Your viewpoint is the one I grew up with. But like its too depressing. I want better for my people yk

What Puntland did with the last election, by allowing all Somali residents to vote, regardless of their clan background/where they came from, is a blueprint for what is to come. For example, our lovely @Wonyluvr can live where she wants in Puntland, and in a few years, if she likes vote, or run for office herself.

Hopefully, if the other FMS get their act together, remove AlShabab and so forth, you @Mudug_gyal can move where you want in Somalia, and do the same thing. This is how it was, before Siad Barre stole power, and refused elections!
thank you for calling my lovely you are lovely too abayo 🥰🥰🥰🥰Puntland is on a great path I admire them

Federalism doesn't mean, that you are superglued in one place, it just means that a certain land-mass comes under one state. It doesn't mean people cannot move freely, for jobs, love, etc.
So many of my subclan died fighting siad barre, im aware of how evil he is

Look at the good things, the positive side of things. The local election in Puntland was a sign of what is to come, a Somalia, where people can vote for who they want and live where they want. It's not all doom and gloom.

sorry abayo ☹️☹️☹️ @𐒁𐒚𐒒𐒂𐒘𐒂𐒗 𐒎𐒚𐒗𐒗𐒒 abayo I read up on something about the 1978 coup attempt what do you think life would be like in Somalia if that had not happened

It was 1969 sis, when that man stole power.

Before him, there were issues yes, there were nomadic clan clashes, yes. But we had a political party called SYL, that was mixed-clan, and it was the purest time in Somalia. I think we would have been far better off without him, but then again, we'd probably be sabotaged by the axis of evil, the same way they have sabotaged every single Muslim country.

Everybody wants to be a big fish in a small pond rather than a small fish in a big pond. This pattern can be seen with every group of Somali elites, be it in Kismayo, Mogadishu, Garowe or Hargeisa. That is the dilemma of a society emerging from a clan-obsessed dictatorship and now headed by clan-orientated leaders. Their followers end up having the mentality of being an insignificant Sardine when their ethnicity in fact represents a majestic blue whale from an African context.

They go from having 5 deepwater ports to having maybe one. They go from having the largest coastline in continental Africa to a little sliver of coastline allowing them to compete with other maritime minnows. They go from being one of the top 10 largest ethnic groups in Africa to being a subgroup with a couple hundred thousand members or maybe a few millions, still small enough to fit in a district of a city like Cairo. They go from having mountains, jungles, rivers, dunes, grasslands, farmlands to being secluded to a territory with maybe one or two of those geographic features. They go from being in possession of vast quantities of oil, gas, gemstones, salt, gypsum, uranium, lithium, and fisheries worth trillions that could dictate and impact the world economy to rationalising their current poverty to a force majeure.

The best way to bring Somalis together is through economics, education, soft power and infrastructure; roads, railways, industrial parks, films, music, universities, schools, etc. Let them taste the fruits of countrywide mobility and access to jobs, education and other regional cultural experiences in the various cities of Somalia. Let them see their historic heroes on the big screen and television to press home what is expected of them. Let them realise how important their unity is to the welfare of other Muslim groups in the Horn and beyond, I’m sure they would eventually accept their duty.

This is how China reintegrated the newer generations of Hong Kong and Macau, and how they will bring back Taiwan.
It shall come. It begins with Independence, which leads to intradependence, case in point the 13 US confederate colonies, lead by warlords, who distrusted each other more than the European colonisers till, after 8 years in said state, realised they were better off forming an alliance, which gave way to US Federal government.

The same is shaping up in .So, and I am confident in 10 - 20 years, the configuration of the nation shall look much stronger, different, and better than it is today, the same way it is much better today than 20 years ago.

Ah yes, I can't believe my mind blocked this out. Before then, Siad Barre was attacking MJs and overall being evil sis, that's why the attempted coup took place, people had enough of him.

It was a very sad time in Majeerteen history. Siad Barre sent his troops to massacre and poison people.

The men who were in charge of this operation, were the same ones that are hailed as heroes in Somaliland. Isn't it funny? Somalis + hypocrisy are a match made in hell.

This is proof that Siad barre killed everyone who was against him, as some certain people like to pull the agenda that they were specifically targeted and try to blame all daroods for his evil doings

What book is this data from?

The irony: SSDF captured X Tanzani red-handed, and handed him over to SNM. And M Kahin not only lived to tell the tale, but was received in Qabri daharre by SSDF commandos, when he finally fled, and repeated worse heinous crimes in Las Anod in 2023, and is revered as a Mujaahid in Hargeysa & Burco today.

Former African
USA pretty much forced Eth to invade in the pretext of getting rid of Islamic terrorism,
Meles volunteered and was given the green light by Washington. Abdullahi Yusuf volunteered to help the invasion because he didn't have the firepower to defeat Hawiye rivals.
anyways it's Ramadan time to lay off the arguments for this month.
Then turn off your phone or laptop.
I don't trust the FGS but the only way forward for all of us is federal autonomy,
There is no way forward without Xamar recognizing SL simultaneously demanding all foreign troops to leave their country. If the FGS wants to survive it needs to fight it's domestic enemies without any active foreign troops in their country or else it will remain another western vegetable puppet govt.
the UN would never allow any regional government to succeed from Somalia, we've been dealt with shit cards and we either fold or play what we have.
The UN is a useless organization that has no effect on world politics.

Very true. The only people that can fight al shabab is Somalis and the qabil whose area is occupied, and we’ve seen an example of that in hiiran. Al shabab will remain as long as there are foreign troops in the country. FGS are lying to themselves, these troops are not fighting nor are they working towards eliminating al shabab, in fact I believe their presence is a catalyst for people with distorted or weak ideologies to join them. The foreign troops are in the country since 2012 that’s 12 years and no success, who are they fooling? Lol
