The is one of the many great tests for the men in the diaspora and we should tackle it by continuing to lower our gazes and avoiding free mixing. I agree it's hypocritical how some dress but we should as men try not to think about it. It's definitely a valid point though that some people pick and choose what they like from the deen and apply it.

Summer time is also here which as you all know is a time of great fitna in the west when it comes to how some women dress. Just try not to think about it and inshaAllah you will be rewarded for your struggle.

Just make it a habit to not look at other peoples behinds

I was never allowed to wear trousers and when I decided to rebel I was shipped to Yemen although I am really grateful for my upbringing it's made me the woman I am today :manny:

I guess it depends how old your parents are.

My parents are in their late forties so they are slightly more liberal than other Somali parents that are in their late 30's. Different generations, different ideologies.

Yemen? I've always wanted to go there. How is it?

Yeah, Somali parents are great wallah.

Yes my parents are in their late forties now and are alot more laid back than in my teenage years.

Yemen is beautiful. Poor country but lovely people. If it wasn't for my mother needing me back in London I would have stayed there all my life. Yemen is not what it was few years ago, such a shame

we are becoming confused:mjlol:

Only in our parents' generation, eh, Sarah????
:denzelnigga:

Ahh, you are extremely lucky and it's nice to hear that you had a good time in Yemen. Yeah, it's the same with Egypt(from what I have heard). If Egypt was how it was before the corruption happened and the occurrence of the Muslim Brotherhood, I would have loved to go there to study. Such a shame that beautiful countries are disastrous countries now.
