It's the one thing I've never understood. You have people insulting their own country and praising their qabil encla- my bad federal states. Now I'd understand this if it was based on the central governments incompetence but that'd put into question why their own states are so corrupt and incompetent and why'd they still give unconditional support to a shitty barely functioning government that's on par with the rest of Somalia that's always headed by some fatshit oday with pockets deeper than the graves of starving women and children.
Hell people in the Somali politics section celebrate their qabil committing war crimes and then when some random atrocity happens in Mogadishu it's all sad faces or the thoughts and prayers of Somali internet also known as "AUN". Then they're back to respective threads shitting on each others qabiils and bragging about killing khat addicts or retaking a corrugated iron shack somewhere in the shrublands like it's an achievement. You'll find folks shitting on siad barre and praising their favourite warlord from their landheere qabiil that's always starving.
You have users calling themselves puntite (we wuz) which quite frankly is the stupidest thing I've heard since Somalilander (doesn't even exist) or Ogadenian citizen (basically an Ethiopian) or . You have people trying to distance themselves away from anything Somali and then they'll speak about their shit hole states like it's developed and point out to another shitty port project that looks more like bay with sea defences somewhere off the coast of Wales.
It's the same folks who'll say shit like 68ers or an or some other crappy insult whenever there's some random news piece on Somalia. Take @SomaliWadaniSoldier for example or @diaby , truly the two stupidest people I've ever come across on the internet and take in mind one comes from Ethiopia and the others from a glorified bush called gedo who's biggest achievement was attracting foreign investment from AMISOM.
Someone's going to downplay qabil in Somalia and say this all internet shit but the stuff you'll hear in maqaayads or every part of Somalia in general is sickening. Hell some of these folks would drop their religion for qabil, case in point @Manafesto .
And then there's the muh ummah/salafi folks or as I like to call them, the Automated Dheg Cas gus sucking machines. You'll find them in your local run down mosque speaking in Arabic to a group of confused non-arabs or getting donations for Syria, Palestine or some random Arab country. They wear a khamiis and some cultural clothing from the middle East that has no significance in Islam. Aside from waging jihad in the form of being fodder for US drones or blowing themselves up they're generally harmless. There zealous support of anything dheg-cas related is quite frankly amazing. I don't have much to say about them other than maybe we should've had a Soviet style aim at secularism in Somalia way back.
