I'm not trying dehumanizing or shame women for their action. I'm just just shedding the light on current status of women in the women particularly in our community. Because we can sit here name countless problems with men which is okay but as it s a halimo it becomes not at all of us or only your environment. both a woman and man is judged by their private life. an unwed woman or an unwed man is gonna get weird looks in the somali community. from both genders as we are a family oriented group. like every group used to be until the family structure was destroyed in the west.

A lot of Somali men are also unmarried, in their late thirties even. I bet if we carried out a study, we'd find comparable figures of single men and women. The trouble is that we are in the diaspora and the pool of eligible men and women is smaller and there is a lack of a network that can match people.
A lot of factors are involved in why people are married or unmarried, divorced or widowed.
We should refrain from conflating this with poor character and sinful lifestyles. Some people are tested with not getting married, some with losing their spouse, some with divorce.
Somalis place too much importance on 'marriage' and not enough on "do you worship Allah" and "what positive impact did you add to your society"?

Okay I understand. To be honest I don't know dynamic between somali men and women is ruined. It's more than just eligible bachelor's. Men know it's not worth it with women who have views similar to gallos. Somali men have evolved but still want traditional gender roles.

I think it has to do with the bs that the media is feeding them, feminism is at an all time high right now. They chose career over family until they realise that having a good career doesn't make them happier than having a family. Most of them realise this when they're in their 30s, which is sad because it's hard for them to find husbands around that age.
It shouldn't be like that but it's reality. Most men that have choices are attracted to younger women opposed to women that are in their 30s.
