It's a myth that the Dems in the US or Labour in the UK raise taxes on regular people.

There are charts and detailed figures out there. Google them.

The main difference between the two (center-left vs center-right) is that they tax the elite more while the other group give the elite more tax reductions.

The intriguing thing is that in America both parties are conservative for the most part and have similar policies..

Singapore's people generally do not have economic freedom. The capitalist class violently enslaves the workers & sells their production. This violence starts with the claiming of land & natural resources by the capitalist class. Without such, they would not own the means of production. There's literally pollution in the whole country

I can't believe people always equate economic performance in terms of numbers with the value of a state (in this case, Google images) and I would argue that free access to healthcare and education and housing would create a more "economically free" populace than a society where some live in filth and poverty while some in huge mansions. China, which performs well economically by GDP also has hundreds of thousands of dirt poor workers in factories that have to install nets to keep their workers from killing themselves.

Economic performance =/= economic or personal freedom for the majority of people

Think early socialism like the UK in the 40s. I believe in free healthcare for all, benefits and job seekers for those that are unable to work. Benefits for the disabled and mentally unstable. Welcoming refugees in need ect. I'm against racism and bigotry.

Tbh, I only like the immigration stance when it comes to the leftwing in the West. Never really benefited from the left otherwise besides low tuition fees and some student grants. But the high taxes are killing me now.

If there is one thing Covid taught a lot of people and the horrible state of America is how much of a blessing free health care is.

I wouldn't be able to live in a society in which people would rather go home with broken bones because they can't afford to go hospital or call an ambulance. I most certainly wouldn't want that for Somalia.

To be frank, healthcare is only a left vs right issue in the US.

Many conservatives in other countries do actually support universal healthcare (Japan, South Korea, Singapore, UK, many countries in Europe etc).
