You when an accurate census is finally done in Somalia...

Censuses based on self-identity have high error rates. Many of those Bantus are probably going to hide under the Rahanweyn clan, possibly some claiming Hawiye as well. Somalia should do a census based on genetics. Link everyone's government id with their genome data. :ftw9nwa:

Lol, sure. And who's going to pay for it? I think a nationwide genomic study would take ages, be incredibly expensive and would reveal a few secrets that many of the major clans would rather not have revealed.

Plus, if Somalis can't tell who's Somali and who isn't using genealogy, then what the hell is the point of Somali clan genealogy in the first place?

It would only cost $50 per person. Governments don't do it because of the neo-Nazi connotations, but it is very feasible.

Problem is, Somalis don't like hard work. Always take the short cuts eg Bantu working at their farm field.

That's where Darwinian evolution comes in. All those to lazy to farm or work will starve to death. No government assistance or remittance money will be allowed to subsidize their laziness.

Assuming a conservative estimate of about 11 million people in Somalia/land, that would mean spending $550 million on a DNA test. I think that money would be better served elsewhere, like drought prevention and infrastructure.

They just came to Somalia 80 years ago only, Somali people were in greater Somalia for the past 4000 years. We did the farming, fishing, trading, all.
80 years ago? I thought they arrived to Somalia when slave trading were present, that's more than 80 years ago.

You only need to do it once. Then you have a register of all the Bantus & Benadiris / Others. Their descendants will be known through the civil registry.

We can be the world's leader in genomic civil registration. Why not?
