Yes during independence we gave Arabs minimal representation instead of deporting them.

This was not supposed to happen at all the French was behind them being there in the first place. Yemenis insulted the government and djiboutians once it was announced undocumented migrants would be sent back they showed their true colour.

I always thought French was made one of the official languages because of the different ethnic groups even though they are a minority. My cousins there speak Somali even the ones that are mixed because it is spoken at home and also the neighbourhood is majority Somali which makes a difference. You will see full canfar or Arabs that speak Somali perfect because they grew up around them.

Yes, that's true. In daily life everyone is speaking Somali regardless of what ethnic they're. I don't know why Cafar learn Somali easily but Somali struggling to learn Cafar.

Yeah that’s strange maybe their language harder it’s the same with Ethiopians there they also learn Somali easily. For the most part Somalis don’t like learning other languages to begin with.

Believe me they know but they’ve been allowed to do as they will and feel like they are untouchable at this point. Having to fight off ajanbis claiming your land is sad, weak Somali leadership has put us there.

Idk why guys online gas’s Yemenis . Only memories I have of them in Djibouti is when I was a kid and my dad was hiring them for work and how they made me caloon in their restraunts. Same way Arabs are seen in European cities to me.
