War in Sool

Amnesty International finally says something, this is very good for Laascaanood and the people of SSC. Although these types of international Organization are mouthpieces for the West+NGOs and have been used and abused by iidoors to promote lies in the past.. now the truth is slowly being unraveled.

.."as it shares findings that Somaliland security forces indiscriminately shelled the town, damaging hospitals, schools and mosques, killing and injuring civilians, and displacing tens of thousands of people"

"According to witnesses, significant damage has been caused to hundreds of civilian buildings including homes, mosques, schools and one hospital because of indiscriminate attacks allegedly by the Somaliland forces who have been trying to take over the town by firing rockets from military bases on the eastern side of the city."

"The organization analyzed several photos showing remains of weapons collected from various parts of the town and confirmed that they were remnants of 107mm rockets, and the damage to the homes was consistent with being struck by rocket warheads of that size. Amnesty International was not able to identify the country of manufacture but assessed them to be weapons commonly used in Somaliland."

Where is the finding that it was Somaliland security forces indiscriminately shelling the town?

They interviewed people describing killings, injuiries and damage, but they do not provide evidence that it was Somaliland security forces that was responsible for it. In the same report they ask "All parties to the conflict in Las Anod must end indiscriminate attacks"..

I can see that you don't know as you did not point out the actual findings that would show it is Somaliland security forces behind it.

If you read it they write that they have findings it is Somaliland behind it, but do not provide the evidence. And they ask all parties to the conflict in Las Anod to end indiscriminate attacks and it needs urgent investigation.

Mate, of the two parties involved, SSC vs SL, there is one party invading the City, and bombarding civilians and neighbourhoods, and that party is SL.

Why is there a need for someone to have to explain that simple fact to you?

Somaliland claim it is several parties involved, but have not provided solid enough evidence for it.

It is possible there are one or several parties responsible.

I don't need the fact explained, I like the evidence.

Walaal, so, you have not seen video feeds of civilian casualties, neighbourhoods being bombarded, petrol stations on fire, hospitals shelled, injured civilians in hospitals being shot at, and killed, and the dead being buried in groups? You have not seen any of that?

Truth be told, Biixi & Co. are bloody 'munafiqiin', and if you can not see past that, then no amount of material evidence on planet earth could convince you otherwise. Moving along.

It's a wrap for you guys. There's no need to obfuscate, we see the article and can read it for ourselves. We thank Amnesty for its courageous reporting and finding consistencies between the rockets used and the damage caused to buildings.

Have you not seen videos of SSC Terrorist firing from homes schools and masjids. Destroying building to mount guns.

That's the strategy when Somaliland fires back then bring the cameras and begin the action.

a) I have not seen, or heard of SSC terrorists,
b) I have seen footage of civilians, and fighters seeking refuge behind buildings in defence of heavily armed invading militias.

Does that justify the indiscriminate shelling, and bombardment of hospitals, masaajid, hotels, and homes?

By the same logic, what you are actually saying, in case it has not dawned on you yet is: the military regime was right, and justified in destroying Hargeysa when civilians, and SNM fighter were engaged in street fighting; is that what you are saying? Or have you never thought through it rationally?

What this war has demonstrated to the international community (US, UK & EU) is that Somaliland as a state does not have an overwhelming military superiority vis a vis Harti.

If this conflict has demonstrated anything it is that even if Somaliland were to gain recognition, it would be a failed state much like Somalia or Congo that lacks a monopoly on violence within the boundaries it claims.

The US, UK & EU are learning, as this conflict drags on, that a Somaliland based on its Jun 26 1960 borders will never be viable. As a matter of fact, its viability is on a downward trajectory due to gap in population growth.

By the time the departments of State and Defense have submitted their US-Somaliland military cooperation feasibility study in mid June, this war will have been ongoing for 6 months. Red flags everywhere at DOD. Say goodbye to military cooperation.
