Fidel Castro could send Cuban troops and I believe even tanks..... to a faraway place called Ogaden.... to fight someone named Siad Barre......
has anyone thought about how weird this is?
when the US decides to fight against people in caves in Afghanistan.... some people notice "isn't it kind of weird the US is fighting wars with seemingly random countries on the other side of the world?".........
but is it not possibly even more weird that a poor country like Cuba would be fighting Siad Barre?
how many Latin Americans have heard of Siad Barre?
I have a book of interviews with Fidel Castro (with Ignacio Ramonet). I think Siad Barre gets a total of one sentence.
The whole war with Somalia gets a total of two sentences. Mind you, Fidel Castro is talking Mr. Ramonet's ear off for about 650 pages.
"Hemos combatido en Etiopía, a raíz de la guerra agresiva lanzada por Siad Barre contra la revolución en ese país. Jamás nuestros soldados ejecutaron a un prisionero, jamás lo maltrataron y siempre le brindaron asistencia médica."
-Fidel Castro
(Fidel Castro: Biografía a dos voces)
So apparently Fidel Castro could send Cubans (and I believe tanks as well) to fight in some way-off region in East Africa to fight a Somali dictator most Latin Americans have never heard of- but he couldn't feed his people.
"Sorry, people, no food for you. We have to go fight in a region you've never heard of called the Horn of Africa."
"Sorry, people, no food for you. I know you've never heard of this country called Angola but we have to go fight a war there. Viva la revolución."
Read The Double Life of Fidel Castro by his bodyguard if you want to know about him. This man was a BALLER, SHOT CALLER.
I think I wouldn't mind balling like Fidel Castro. I might finally get an Instagram and call it BIG BALLER DADDY DEL SUR.
That guy was living like a movie star. This guy one moment is balling hard on his "pimped-out" yacht and then next he's preaching to people about revolution and lying about how he actually lives.
This man was a BALLER. I cannot overemphasize that.
£100 million bed-hopping hypocrite: He claimed he lived on £20 a month. But Fidel Castro had 20 luxury homes, a private island, an 88ft yacht - and mistresses galore
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...vate-island-88ft-yacht-mistresses-galore.html
so this man is living like that and fighting wars in places Latin Americans can't point to on a map, against people they're never heard of....... yet he can't feed his people
US imperialism made him do it?
just some thoughts on Cuba..... of course Venezuela is a different country but the two are closely linked...... however your best buddy is, I might think you're similar
