This should be the map of current Somalia, what do you think?

Minus all these "qabil states" that were created to divide us

Insha'Allah we will achieve this dream one day

I’m an Isaaq. I know this vision is not supported by my people (for controversial reasons). I have a Somaliand flag at my own house (my family are the biggest Somaliand supporters out there). I always talk about the greater Somalia idea. As much this is a dream than a reality. We’ve could’ve accomplished greater things with this idea.

One race, one religion, one language and one culture. And yet divided. WTF Somalia.

It looks like both Shabelle regions were originally part of one region called Banaadir, but were later divided into three regions: Banaadir, Shabeellaha Hoose, and Shabeellaha Dhexe β€” similar to how Togdheer was divided into three regions: Togdheer, Sanaag, and Sool.
Correction:
Under the British, there were two regions:
a) North West, which was Hargeysa (later became NW & Awdal), and
b) North East, which later became Togdheer, Sanaag & Sool.

Postscript:
In contemporary history, the name North East was adopted post 1991 for Bari, Nugaal, and N Mudug, which later formed part of PL.

Not true, under the British there were 5 and then 6 principal districts which formed British Somaliland.

Hargeisa
Berbera
Borama
Burao (later carved into Burao and Las Anod)
Erigavo

On June 26th 1960, these 6 principal districts became the regions.

I am familiar with the districts, which came under the two regions. You will agree if you reference history books at the British library.

At one point, Togdheer, Sanaag & Sool were known as Norther region, later rebranded North Eastern.

Moving along.
