It’s well known the letter was fake. But imma let you cook for the likesDon't forget Egal's letter where he begs Israel, tells them that Jews and SLanders have cultural ties and refers to himself as a humble servant of Israel. BTW Israel didn't even bother replying to that letter.

The irony is, saxiib, these lot will say Somalis have inferiority complex to Arabs, when showing solidarity with Palestinians and accusing people of being obsessed with Arabs........all the while they demonstrate obsession with Arabs by constantly bringing them up and blaming them for the mess that is Somalia......if you ask me, they feel inferior to Arabs.
I'm sorry, did Arabs invade and destroy Somalia in 91? Did they organise a coup against the government? Did they turn millions of Somalis refugees? The answer is NO. That's all on Somalis.

Israel was the only non communist nation to support Ethiopia in 1977 despite Derg regime cutting ties with the country 5 years before the war.

Arabs buy our livestock which we depend on, i don´t think Israelis care about our Camels.
yes they would it's in their interest as we will eventually start selling Oil+Uranium and for that to happen Somalia needs to be stable. Having an ally to relay on in the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea will also be in their interest. As for araps, yes they do buy our livestock but lets not forget in the in 70s and mid 80s when we had famines they refused to buy our livestock.
Israel right now, doesn't see as us competition, however araps do, and have for a long time. It is in their best interest for Somalia to be destabilized or better yet fragmented. You have to look at this from a political lens, there are no friends when it comes to diplomacy only winners and losers and we have to do everything we can to make sure we can be winners or else we will cease to exist.

Secondly we must stay in the Arab league, it provides a great deal of relevance for us in the Arabic world. We should explore relations with Israel too as long as there’s a benefit to it. Israel is great in fields Somalia needs to develop in like energy, desalination etc.
We also need a change in culture given Somalia is now an extremist hell hole that will never be able to attract tourists. Tourism makes up around 10%-20% of many African and Asian countries providing crucial FDI and capital. A return to our more moderate Islamic traditions is very important. Deradicalisation should be a top priority so Islamic terrorists do not find support and that way security can be improved long term.

I don't care about geopolitics, Israel is a settler colonial state occupying Al Aqsa. You are acting on emotion sxb. Of course Israel is a settler colonial state that has committed horrible atrocities but what can we do? Either way we have to look out for ourselves, this doesn't mean we support zionism in anyway, it just means we just trying to keep our house in order first.
Ethiopia and Kenya are both settler "colonial" states as well who have committed / are actively committing horrible atrocities against Somali people due to our lack of power at the moment. We have to hold our tongues and slowly get our house in order, only then can we do anything.
I am not promoting Zionism and neither are most people in this thread, establishing relations is a must if it's beneficial for us.
