I talked about why I defended Hawiye in the past. I never said that it was only MJs being qabilist on this forum. It was a thread in which people were saying Hutu Hawiye and Hawiye footo madow. That was how the conversation came up. You know for a fact that I hardly frequent the Somali
Politics and FKD and that I’m usually out of my depths since I never used to care. I was too busy in the general section being part of generic threads.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even care. Look at the Khaaleej, one of their major tribes won the race and now everyone is well looked after and their citizens, regardless of qabil are leading prosperous lives. Their tribal systems are very similar to Somalis in which you have major nasaab tribes that would be warring each other but the only difference is that now one tribe is more dominant and even within the one tribe, one sub-sub tribe are given the ruling seat. But even then, all of the nasaab tribes married each other and the way the ruling tribes were able to form closer connections was by marrying the daughters of other tribes like what the early Kings of Saudi did for example. But the thing is, they had charismatic men who loved their peoples that were able to bring them together and cleverly get them to stop fighting. It wasn’t just physical domination.

It doesn't even have to be by domination. Siad Barre become president not because his tribe was powerful but because he was a shrewd politician who inherited a fairly new state set by colonial powers. He could've been the Al Saud of Somalia but he choose to align with his own close circle of MOD. Another opportunity arises during the emergence of ICU. The Hawiye would finally won the race and subjugate all other clans but what happened? AY called in the Ethiopians to extend our civil war.


Bottom line, we didn't need winner clan to come together as proven by the union in 1960 and the result of Djibouti & NFD referendums. No referendum was ever carried out in Ogaden but I can bet during the nationalism period in early 1960s all Somalis wished to come together under a single rule irrespective of Qabiil.

Clan wars in the entire Somali peninsula from the 90s could be counted in one hand. Minor tiffs no bigger than neighbourhood tussles in Chicago, if you consider the casualties, do happen, and are part of life, but nothing to be majorly concerned about.

Real concerns I see are lack of taking advantage of natural resources, educating the populace, healthy masses etc. That is wherein lies the trouble.

England was named after the Angles tribe that ruled it for centuries and would form the backbone of the British Empire.

The Ottoman's history started by conquering the Anatolian Beyliks to unite all the Turkish tribes under the Osmangolu sub clan.

The Mongolian tribes were xooged so badly by Genghi Khan's people that they agreed to sit on the table he was the head of, and the rest is history.

Name any great nation and I'll name you a powerful family from a powerful tribe that started the conquests.

Its the nature of humans and Somalis are no different, our only problem is we're too late to the game without a final winner.

Think of these foreign agents like Turkey, UAE, and the West as invasive species. What happens when you have invasive species in an environment? It messes up the natural order of things. That's what's happening in Somalia right now.

There is no tribalism problem in England, Turkey, and Mongolia today because nature was allowed to take its course and hierarchy was established long before any foreigners could come and interfere.

For Somalia to truly be a united country it needs 1 great leader from a clan powerful enough to subjugate other Somali clans long enough to make them drop their tribal identity and transition their offsprings into a mind set of national identity.

No hierarchy will be established, unlike the populations u mentioned, our people have low IQ and are uncivilised jaahils . So it won’t happen, and thinking it will happen makes me believe you don’t know the reality on the ground.
