This seems pretty obvious to me. I do well for myself, but obviously I'll sort of take some time to assess what the mehr she states means contextually.

If she has a lot of suiters because God blessed her with beauty, then that's not surprising.

If she does well for herself and she wants a man on her level, that also makes sense.

Beyond that, I don't really see the sense. But that wouldn't matter because I wouldn't be interested in the first place. But I don't mind throwing down the money for my wife to be. I just hope she has her financial priorities straight when it comes to how we'll spend money as a unit to facilitate building a family.

Ultimately it's a woman's right to propose it. It was a right given by God. So I ain't gonna get too deep into it. That's just how I feel.
